cadillac 5.7?

Like the Corvette Z06, the CTS-V's 5.7-liter V-8 pumps 400hp and 395 lb.-ft. of tarmac-tearing torque through a 6-speed manual transmission launching it from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds and completes the ¼ mile in 13.1. The engine's lightweight aluminum heads and block enhance the car's excellent power-to-weight ratio and chassis balance with 54/46 percent front/rear weight distribution. The Brembo 14-inch front and 14.4-inch rear disc brakes with aluminum four-piston calipers at all four corners enable awesome deceleration. Additional standard features at the CTS-V's all-inclusive $49,995 sticker price include a split folding rear seat, Homelink programmable garage door opener, power heated outside mirrors, seven-speaker audio and DVD navigation system with XM satellite radio and in-dash six-CD changer. The substantial safety equipment package includes driver and front passenger front and side air bags, front-to-rear head-curtain air bags and front seatbelt pretensioners. With the six-speed manual the only available transmission, its EPA economy ratings are 16 mpg City and 25 mpg Highway.

Ummm, yeah.
Unless you want to argue a point about driver capabilities.

It was a couple of sites that I had cut and pasted from. I didn't set out to make my own cadillac ad, however. . . reading on about that machine got me "torqued up".
With the direction I had seen Lincoln taking w/ the urbanite "flava" on lincolnlounge.com, umm. . . yeah.

I have ran across a few blurbs about a CTS V-Plus that is 500hp. With a true performance orientated chasis. Yikes!

I can take I CTS-V and those 5.7 GTslOs not by much but its consider a win right, I cant touch the new 6.0 in the GTO

Yall know how the ford fusion is the cadillac cts's competition? I hope that when the do the performance version of the fusion, that they throw a s/c'ed 4.6 or 5.4 in it. That would be cool!

Fusion/Zephyr/Milan are FWD.

The Fusion does look like the CTS.

awd option soon to be available on the zephyr, and most likely the fusion as well. it's based on a stretched mazda 6 platform.

I thought fusion was the replacement for the focus?
there is much confusion about where the fusion lays, basically it goes focus, fusion, and 500 with the drop of the crown vic and taurus ford had to stretch out the line up making the fusion a happy medium between a taurus and a mid size like the ill fated countour, and the 500 is the other end between the taurus and the crown vic. the fusion seems like a good car and fast as hell ive drove 4 of them but my only complaints are they need to mate a 5 or 6 speed manual to the 3.0 dohc

where did you read that they are dropping the crown vic? it's been fleet only in canada for a long time, but i haven't heard of any plans to drop it...

I drove a 6-speed CTS-V, and all I have to say is those things are badass. Beyond luxury interior, and yah they haul!

Will probably be my car in about 8 years, when the value plummits on them I'll be able to pick one up for $3,000. Gotta love American luxury... haha

Do you Lincoln guys(and notice I give Lincolns a capital letter), think that your company is even going to try to compete with these cars or hope that it's a flop? You know Lincoln or Ford who ever for that matter needs to come up with enhancement on current Lincoln models or a new Lincoln model to compete.

I think they should, but will they is another question. Even if they do it'll probably just come out lame. If they put the cobra S/C 4.6 in a Lincoln Zephyr that would be nice, but will the 'big heads' do it; doubt it.

I think what Lincoln is doing is just trying to their "older" generation happy, and let Cadillac take over the 'younger' market that are usually more attracted to BMW, Mercedes, etc....

I would like them to, but realistically, they have Jaguar to target that market.

67Continental, since when did Jaguar consider itself to be in competition with a Cadillac design(Ignorant)?
