Cam Position Sensor

Well I guess my sensor is going, car threw a P1309 at me. Judging by the forums I'm guessing it's the cam position sensor. I looked on Quicks post and he said it's located off the cooling tree but if that is the case the wire on the sensor leads under the head and I can't even tell where the wire goes. Am I looking at the right thing? Also can this be tackled easily or does it need to go to a shop and if so anyone got any figures on how much it would cost?

I looked at the post that has screenshots from the service manual but honestly it just confused me even more... anyone know where I'm supposed to be looking?

From what I've found a P1309 = Misfire Detection Monitor not enabled, or Misfire Monitor AICE Chip Fault, so your trouble may be elsewhere.
