What do you think controls ignition and fuel firing? You would be missing 2 drivers for each even IF everything else was the same, which is not even close.

i didnt think it was ganna work either but when i put a sst shifter on my ls the computer recognized it and works great.......

The SST shifter was available on 2000-2002 V6s as well as the V8. That's why the computer recognizes the self-shifting. You still lose D4 without a sport calibration.

i heard that some pcm can only be used with some engine . is his true??

You can't change from V6 to V8, and you can't change generations. All PCMs have to be "married" to the car's cluster.

so even if you change clusters you can change from v6 to v8

Nothing is impossible. Just jack up the radiator cap on your V-6 car and slip in an entire V-8 car. Problem solved, and it isn't even very much labor!!

soon you guys will see a v8 on a v6 body work in progress
