I was looking at alot of todays thread and some from early and noticed ALOT of lskoncepts being mentioned.

Just a thought wouldnt it be great for new comers to log in and have that be the first thing they see. It would save alot of time and help Ken out alot.

What do you guys think......

Joey?????????????

Its on the right side of the page with all of the other venders. Click on it and your at the website.

I have banner on the right. It's not very big but I plan to have another one made soon. Thanks for the idea though.

True, we really need some stickies like the MK8 board has.

If you come across anything that needs stickying, send a PM to one of the admin for consideration.

Perhaps this would be a good time to brainstorm guys. I'm feeling a sticky for all the automotive problems we've had so the newbies can read that first, and another for insight on where to buy things, all with good grammar and punctuation of course to make it professional.

What really needs to happen is that within the Lincoln LS folder we need to break down the posts a bit better. I'd be willing to work on this if Joey or one of the admins would make me a moderator to the LS section. I could organize it a bit better so that searching for topics would be a little better. I would invision these categories:

Engine
Transmission, Drivetrain, Brakes
Steering, Suspension and Chassis
Wheels and Tires
Accessories and Instrumentation
Safety and Security
Interior
Exterior

Of course those are open for debate and discussion.

Im in favor of an ls moderator, and agree ken should be one as well as lou.

The only thing with sections in the ls is how would we view em all like we do now. would we have to go to each section? what about after a week being on here then they get moved to seperate sections. or something like that.

I don't think Lou has the time. We should follow the format of LS1tech.com, I find it quite nice to navigate over there.

I agree with this idea, I really think this would help w/ browsing or looking for specific information.

I am on few boards that break it out like this. Good idea makes navigation a lot easier. Maybe add section for posting items for sale, specific to the LS.

^but the LS section isn't THAT busy. It'd take forever to go to all of them to check out the new posts. Whereas here, you can just click LS and read em all.

There is a "New Posts" button at the top of the website.

I agree!!! A break down like cited here would make the forum much more useful.

Do you really want to break things down into sub forums like that?

Or something like when a new member signs up they get a private message telling them to use the search menu first before flooding the forum with old posts.

I believe it will help out tremendously. This way items can be put into those categories and people know where to find them. The search button is rarely used and it's hard to make someone use it. I'd be more than willing to go through the posts and categorize them if need be.

i think the stickys will work better, cause i like going into one forum and scrolling thru the posts... i dont wanna have to go to 30 different sub posts to read everything... u kno what im sayin?

What I liked best of LvC was that members were never rude only helpful. When I visited other boards and had questions I would post my question. Often I would get rude comments like why don't you search for the answer. My problem was I didn't have time to search, and was looking for friendly advice.

At LvC I found that. It didn't matter how often a question came up the question got answered.

I also found that newer members would answer old questions as they learned and became more familiar with their cars. To explain how to fix a problem is a way of building confidence.

I don't find LvC to have any real problem with any car issues. Also I find that LvC members are some of the most helpful board members on this site and other sites.

I also agree that scrolling through the post is a great way to find other answers to questions.

Now maybe a LS moderator maybe helpful - someone who spends more time in the LS forum. Most Mods are Mark VIII owners so I could see how that would help the new LS Members greatly.

Rich,

I agree with what you said. A LS moderator is probably needed now with all the posts in that section.
