I would think you need to get the suspension taken care of, and then an alignment. Once on the alignment rack you will find if you have frame/cradle problems. They won't be able to align it. Unless the cradle is bent so bad you can actually see it, you really won't know.
You might try to X measure the engine compartment, if your out there then you have problems.
Chicken is right on with the strut rods. If the bushings are shot or pushed out from the curb hit, that will let the wheel "move" back and forth.
If you can get it up in the air and take pics it would be a great help.
