So I have an 04 Lincoln LS V6 with about 75000 miles on it almost. I got a used transmission put on it by the warranty since they wouldn't put a remanufactured one or a new one likely due to the cost.. I've driven the car uphill and the car feels terrible. It feels like it wants to stall. You feel the car like if it's confused and doesn't know the gear or something. The car never felt like this with the old transmission. I drive uphill and downhill a lot on the freeway and this is now a safety issue as I'm getting scared of driving it. It also does it on the freeway sometimes when I slow down from 65 and try to pick up speed again.

I have two questions:

Is there anything that I can do in order to get a remanufactured or a new transmission on it? My warranty is First Extended Warranty and on their state guidelines, it says to call a number for some insurance company if my claim is denied or lasts more than 60 days without being approved since I'm in California.

My other question is what might the problem be. I took it to the dealership from where I bought the car used. They said they can't look at it until monday. One mechanic says he thinks it's likely an engine performance problem like spark plugs but I don't think it would be that. Any ideas on what it might be?

Thanks

What is the tach doing when you are having these problems. (If it drops, then it's probably engine issues. If it jumps, then it's the transmission.)

I'm sorry but what exactly is the tach?
All the stuff on my dashboard remains the same.
