catalyic converter problems?

yes, I have the p0420 code. which means the oxygen sensors are reading too similar and the converter may not be working. It seems as if I have a bit less exhaust pressure coming out of the tailpipe on the problem side. Also water sometimes drips from the beginning of the muffler (under the car right where it first begins) and the metal looks to be damp in this area.

Since I still need to register the car and do emissions this could be a problem.

What problem are you having?

Yae I have been driving around with my check engine light on for a couple months now. I need to replace one of the catalytic converters because of that code p0420. I have replaced all 4 o2 censors just to make sure also. Luckily I do not have to worry about emissions checks in my state.

Yeah, that was a weird coincidence. I have cam's magnaflows/tips, and fbird18 bought his wheels. Both sets of items came to MN owners, and both of us happened to go to the meet.

John, looking back at those pictures, I really wish I would've polished up the tips on my car. That was the one thing I decided not to do before I came down there.

jk52781, is your muffler all rusty on that side? mine has white and red rust blotches on the bad side, whereas the other side is clean.

water seems to be pooling in the back of the muffler at the end opposite the tailpipe. and it drips slightly from this area. Also, the exhaust coming out the bad side is weak, and not hot/warm like the other side. Anyone know why that is?

I have been wanting to see if it was an 02 sensor, but i don't think it is.
