they're still kinda expensive. do you guys think it'd be cheaper to have a local shop fashion a replacement cover?

most (good) upholstery shops shouldn't have a problem making good set. however I would talk to the and look at samples to make sure its gonna match right, might have to do both front seats as so one does not stick out too much from the other.

as far as price, it usually will vary by shop a bit and also come down to the quality of materials...
