Ok I'm sure its in this forum somewhere but I dont have time to read all this crap!
03 Lincoln LS Sport 86K
The traction control light and ABS came on today... and the message center says Check Traction Control.

Is it a wheel sensor? Is it Ok to drive it? Does any one want to buy it?:)

lol... i heard the wheel sensor can return an error. if fairly certain, despite my limited mechanical knowledge, you can drive it. traction control/ats may not working... but you already knew that.

But I have time to repeat it all?

It could be one or more wheel sensors, it could be an ABS module internal fault, it could be a brake booster fault, it could be a calibration issue, or it could be a few other things. It seems that most often it is indeed a wheel speed sensor. A Ford specific scan tool will narrow down the search greatly.

It's okay to drive, just be aware that you won't have antilock brakes.
I don't want to buy it, but I can't speak for everyone else.

lol... i don't want to buy a lincoln with a problem. there's nothing special about that one.

now if you find one without one...

v.

I have two that are currently without problems, but they aren't for sale.

Joe plz stop! lol why the humanity!! lol wish my car was rid of problems waiting for my part from Barna

like joe said - whell sensor - they are $40 each and you can;t tell which one it is unless you use a Ford computer - which they usually charge you for... so depending on their cost to diagnose it is often the same price (or cheaper) to simply swap them all yourself.

If your speedo is bouncing around - and the car is driving crappy - it's likely the driver's rear wheel.

I bought my ls a month ago and was having the same problem. It was the front wheel sensors. Apparently the hubs leak water over time and the water damages the wheel sensors and/or hubs. There is a TSB out regarding this problem. I had 2 go bad since I bougth the car. Sensors are $40 and hubs with sensors assemblies around $100.

i'm on this forum. i love the LS. saved my life. i was hit from the side and hit a fixed pole. walked away. later saw the LS received 5star in frontal impact. one of the safest cars ever built....

doesn't surprise me. not a scratch. walked away. that's why i have an LS.

Ok kidding about the for sale part :p Thanks for the info.... as we all know we all at one time or the other have had multiple issues with the LS..... but they are nice cars for the $$$.... i was foolish enough to buy another after I got rid of the first one....

The ABS and Traction control lights have gone out for now..... I'm sure they will be back. No long trips for me for now... Thanks Guys

The solution may be as simple as just cleaning the wheel speed sensor assemblies.

Where are you buying $40 ABS Speed Sensors? I had the test done yesterday and its the right front... it shows its missing. I took it apart today cleaned it all and the light is still coming on. Autozone, oreillys and Advance do not have it and cant get it. Thanks
