Climate Control Vacuum Leak? help to troubleshoot

Hi Everyone, Was wondering if some one could tell me how to begin troubleshooting the climate control unit for vacuum leaks or other problems.
The Chilton manual doesnt mention it except states that the car is equiped with a safety that allows the defrosters to work in case a vacuum leak develops. Air doesnt blow from any of the vents except the defrosters on my car anymore. The fan still works at all settings.
The Manual also states that a small leak will make the air come out of the defrosters at acceleration and will come out of the defrosters all the time if its big..Any ideas, or procedures on how to find the leak?

hmm dunno, I can't help on your v8 conti..

BUT, get yourself a factory service manual along with the factory EVTM, and you will be able to find/fix it. Throw the chiltons in the fireplace.... with a fire going. They aint worth the paper they are printed on when it comes to our Lincolns. They are toooo generic.

Thanks, I'll do that, before bringing it in somewhere, those chilton manuals used to be good, like in the 70's
