Cobra intake on a 93 mark VIII

trac lok out of a mustang, or an explorer, but explorer side gears are 31 spine and our are 28, you would have to change the side gears. If you find one in the salvage yard or something the tag will read 3L55 or 4L10 whatever the ratio with an L in the middle.

So nobody has any experience with 4:56 gears?if it pulls like a rapped ape to 100mph ill be happy. Not looking to go over 120mph if that.wanna runs decent times n/a and then 100shot with some sticky tires.

Oh yeah, another thing to think about. Assume you run a 1/4 mile track with gears and a 100 shot, you will NEED a tune that removes the driveshaft RPM limit. Otherwise you won't be able to trap faster than 97mph with 4.10s, 93 with 4.30s, and 88 with 4.56s. And if you run into that limit while spraying, you're pretty likely to grenade your motor.

If i buy that chip from lincolnmotorsports site that sponsors will that remove it or is there only one way?Alright so im thinking the gears would go good with the chip and there cold air kit (mass air and filter).Seen some underdrive pulleys on ebay for $70 but didnt know if to stay away from them or not.this is the kit i was talking about

I have no experience with LMS tuning and can't comment on the quality of it, but it should take care of that issue. Check with Geno to be absolutely sure before you pull the trigger. The driveshaft RPM limit is programmed into the EEC tune, so you get rid of it with a, you guessed it, EEC tune.

I would spend the 'cold air' and MAF money on something else. You won't be close to maxing out your stock MAF without some serious motor work, and do a search to find out what people around here think of cold air intakes...

If thats the case then i was gonna do chip and full 2.5" exhaust with a x pipe.At the same time with those gears should be a nice gain.

I emailed LMS about there chip if it is usable with nitrous but havent heard anything back been about a week or so.THere still running business right?
