I have a 2000 LS V6 and have 85k miles. It seems to not want to accelerate like it used to. Seems like it is misfiring...No CEL yet. I am thinking of replacing all coils. Does anyone know how difficult that might be and also if anyone has instructions on how to please advise. Thanks Oh yeah any idea how much I should expect to pay for parts?

rockauto has ford motorcraft coils for $40 each.. also motorcraft spark plugs for $4 each... and the vlave cover gasket i belive is like 5 seperate pieces like $10 each...total is around $316 + shipping
The DIY for coils replacement is in the tech articles... the v6 is harder than the v8, because you have to remove the manifold...

I just looked at the tech article for the V6 coil replacement and WOW!!!! You have to take the manifold off and that looks like a job and a half may have to take it to my trusty mechanic for this one..any idea of a decent cost for labor to replace all 6?

where are you gonna buy urs form, i only did oen of mine and my car is runnin like :q:q:q:q. ive been drivin the mustang latley. and im only gettin 16.6 mpg

I just did plugs/coils and gaskets but I have a V8 so I guess I'm no help. All I can say is that it wasn't as tough as it looked. Good luck

It is best not to think about the aggrevation and think about the money you will save. Thats what motivates me . . . $CASH$ Good luck.

yea the v8 and v6 use diff coils.. v6 are about $40 each, v8 are about $60 each.. sorry, but you are correct .. lol.. dont forget about spark plugs and valve cover gasket kits

yea u should definately replace them... for the v6 they dont come in kits like the v8, .. you need to buy them seperately i think its 4 seperate pieces at about $10-$12 each
