Hi all,
This is my first time so thanks for all the help Im sure I will get!
I have an 1998 mark 8 with 130k miles when its cold out it will not stay running when I first start it. I can keep my foot on the gas and wait until it warms up but I live in New Hampshire and it can take some time for it to warm up and stay running on its own. any ideas? Thanks Tom

I would check the CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor) and the IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensor in that order. New plugs wouldn't hurt either. Autolite 764's gapped at .054 for winter.

IAC ? Could you ell me what that is and can I check it?

Idle air control valve, the symptoms of a bad or clogged one are what you have . The pintle inside gets fouled with carbon and it sticks. I believe it's on the side of the throttle body on Gen II's and it should have 2 screws holding it together. A little cleaning with some carb cleaner should free it up.

Actually, it's located on top of the engine in the middle of the Intake manifold. 2, 8MM bolts and it comes right off.

Didn't know where it was on exactly the Gen II"S, thinking more on the line of my old Mustang;)
