Hey guys, I currently own a 99 Ford Taurus with a DOHC 3L V6. I'm currently considering upgrading to a Mark VIII, I'm ready to own a V8 again. Anyway, I'm wondering if there is any specific year I should aim to get, or stay away from. I want to do some serious upgrades and hopefully get the car into the 13's in the 1/4 mile. I've been looking at Superchargers on Ebay from the Cobra Mustangs. I know it's not a direct bolt-on (different heads), but I'm a machinist, and I run a CNC mill, so making adapters isn't out of the question. Has anyone else tried this?

welcome aboard, i would have to say, look for a mark viii that has HID's late 95's -96 LSC's(G1's) and 97-98 LSC's(G2's)! but if you get a mark pre 95, the very first thing i would do is put HID's on, screw performance stuff, that should be your first mod to the car. good luck!

Each Generation has its + and - all depends on what you like more.

Gen 1 are more agressive and a lot cheaper. Gen 2 more suttle 98 best tranny.

Gen 1's are a little faster. 96 - 98 have HID's

It all depends - but once you purchase one you will fall in love with the car.

I know the LSC models have a 3.27 rear end, are there any other performance benefits to the LSC's? Gen 1's are faster, are they lighter, I know they have 10 less HP?

They say that the non-lsc's have 10 hp less, but I dont know any real explanation for it. I guess the exhaust is better though on the lsc.
