LVC Family,

Pray all has been well. I have had my 2004 V8 Lincoln LS since 2007. It has for the most part been an amazing car!

About 2011-2012, I started having a serious over heating problem with the LS that has continued repeatedly almost every year. It seems I am constantly replacing the same parts like the: water pump, coolant reservoir, thermostat, and nearly everything involving with the cooling system and AC on a yearly basis. I have been to multiple mechanics whom seem to replace the items but, I end up with the same problem within a year.

I have a few questions in reference to this continuous issue:

1. Does the cooling system and AC have a interconnected impact on each other?

2. Is there an underline problem being missed by the mechanics besides simply replacing the parts?

3. What else can be done?

As always thanks for your help in keeping this Lincoln on the Road!!!

Is it overheating going down the road or overheating when idling? Did you do the bleed procedure as it is shown in the manual? If it's overheating at low speed or at stop when idling, are you sure your fan is coming on?
I put a brand new AutoZone(DORMAN brand) thermostat on mine and it was bad, though brand new. don-ohio :)^)

I have read prior post in reference to other who have had similar issues and there was a suggestion of replacing all plastic parts in the cooling system because of pockets of air preventing circulation through micro-cracks in the plastic. Just as a reference about how much would a job like that estimate on cost????

DIY: about $500, more if you need the radiator too (you almost certainly do, overheating shocks the radiator too).

This is why we keep saying to do it all when the first part fails...

these might help...we've all been there

so when you say you are replacing every year...

do you mean that you are replacing EVERY plastic cooling part every year? or do you mean that you are having to replace something every year cause it starts to overheat again and that you have (almost) replaced every cooling part?
