Anyone on here running the Cooper Zeon Sport A/S in size 235/50-17? I'll need tires here pretty soon and I've looked at several options and this tire was on of them. Another Cooper tire is the CS4 Touring. Any feedback is appreciated. BTW, this website rocks with tires and tire prices, much better than discount or tirerack! http://www.onlinetires.com/

I have the Cooper Zeon Sport A/S on the 16 inch rim on the front of mine.
They seem like good tires, they are new and were on the car when I bought it. I've only driven the car about 500 miles. On the back are some tires called "Capitols", they are also new but it seems these are Chinese tires that are sold to dealers only. I may end up replacing these.

I personaly never owned those particular tires, But I have owned several sets of Cooper tires. Kelly tire is also their sister brand. My experience with them is mixed, the 60,000 tires I bought for my Explorer only got about 40,000 out of them. But on my old SHO and Sable both front wheel drive, I got the life out of the tire. They were always pretty good tires, I just didn't like their truck tires. But as for the car tires definately better than most other tires, But I have never owned a set of michelen though

I use Zeon ZPT as my 'drift' tires since the goodyear F1 are too expensive to waste....

I haven't had those exact ones either but I have cooper zx2's in 235/50R17 right now and they are great. Lots of traction, even when you don't want it lol.
They look great as well.

As for durability, I'm not sure as I've only put about 5k on em. but so far they're holding up well.

I really miss the factory stock tires that I had before these.. These ones seem too sticky :p

Cooper seems to have a good reputation, it might worth trying some out. Thats the cheapest I have ever seen them on any site. They usually run about 160-175 a tire.

ive got the cs4 and i love them its a whole new car compared to the mxm4's from factory
lots of tread, traction in all kinds of crap. trust me i did put them to the test unavoidably, and ride great
o did i mention they hook up pretty good too. wouldnt be a bad investment at all. i cant wait to get my front pair

Great feedback. Now I just have to decide if I want yours or the Zeon A/S.

Anyone else have anything to say?

I'm usually a BFG guy but based on application and price we elected to go with the Zeon A/S rubber.
We run the Coopers in a 18" size and have about 4k miles on them. So far I've been pretty impressed, they ride real smooth and seem very quiet. I especialy like the side walls which require very little tire black to keep them looking good.

An older post I know but have a fresh experience and opinion to kick in. Today, I put a set of the Cooper CS4 tires installed on my 06 LS and had the suspension aligned.

First thing up was to take them for a test drive. Heading down a city street about 40 mph, I was doing some mild zigging to wiggle the car right and left to get the feel for them. Had lots of oversteer.

Next I took them for a 5 mile drive on the interstate to see if my first opinion was accurate or not. Again at highway speeds, the oversteer was way more than I like. In addition, there was a very noticable, high frequency vibration set up by the CS4s that was easy to feel through the steering wheel. It seemed like every pebble in the asphalt was setting the steel belts to strumming like a piano wire.

I took the car back to the tire dealer and they are going to replace the CS4s next weeked with some Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum as it will be a few days before they ship in from their warehouse in Texas.

Over the weekend plus 1-day of commuting, I have put a couple of hundred miles on the Cooper SC4 tires. The handling has radically changed from a bad over steer to a being completely sloppy and uninspiring. What I suspect was going on is that initially, mold release materials were affecting the handling and now have scuffed off.

Now that I am not tunnel visioned on the handling personality of the tires, I realized that my hands and throttle foot are going numb. Wierd... My best guess is that the tread block design is creating a harmonic that is humming through the linkages and such.

Still planning on swapping the tires out on Saturday.
