1 How low can i adjust the air springs besides the speed sensor being lowered
2 Does a mustang h pipe and cat back fit. If not where do i get them and who sells or makes the rear tailpipes (would they have to be made custom)
3 Where can i find body parts for my 92 lsc mark VII need fenders
I have other ?'s but i'll start with these for now. thanks.

fivohalex, I can't help on 1 or 2, but you can pick up good parts of ebay.
But beware of packing for shipment. I had a decklid trashed by the guy
that packed it, UPS throwing it around didn't help. But I did buy a nice
decklid and right front fender for $40.00 each. no rust. But I opted to
drive to Chicago to pick them up. About 300 miles one way, gas was
not $2.35 gallon then. It was a nice cruise, I took my Mark VII minus
the passenger seat. Also beware of minor panel changes with model years.
An 89 deckilid is minus the hole for trunklight,(might have been located
elsewhere I don't know), and an 89 fender fit my 91 with the addition of
a small plate at the header mount due to a depression in the 91 fender
the 89 did not have.

What do you mean by "adjust the air springs"

You can lower them, as far as factory will allow, or lower with some modification.

Pretty sure mustang h/x pipe will fit, dont think cat back will.

Any parts store can get the 2" factory tail pipes, or you could swap it out for a 2.5" mustang exhaust system, with some modification.

Call your local junkyard, i'm sure they can find parts.

If not, check ebay, www.ezfindparts.com, if you cant find anything, call them.

ok, on the exhaust i know the flowtubes and mufflers will work with a mustang h pipe. But the tailpipes seem longer on the lsc and the bends seem more severe. I Think i'lk try to get a 87-93 lx cat back and work from there.

You can lower the car by adjusting the height sensors, but it won't do you any good. Best handling has been track proven on autocross circuits to be at stock ride height. In addition, the MacPherson strut front suspension has an inherent design problem. If you lower it too much, the geometry gets progressively worse. I forgot which part falls below the centerline or pivot point for the suspension to cause all the problems, but I know it happens. Also, lowering the car supposedly lowers the air pressure in the springs creating a softer suspension. I'd leave it at stock height.

Mustang H pipes will fit if you get one for an automatic Fox Mustang. For the tails and mufflers, order a system for a Fox Mustang GT for the stock look and have a shop extend the flow tubes and the tails. If you want the GT look, add your own longer stainless tail pipes. Dynomax Super Turboes match the Lincoln image very well. They are quiet at idle, but roar tastefully when pushed. An X pipe will get you a more tuned sound. I heard an LSC with a catted X pipe and Super Turboes and it sounded really good. If you want to control drone, you need to use two different length mufflers and different diameter tail pipes. Best size for a largely stock engine will be 2.25" with 2.5" if you plan on making 300+ hp. If you get headers, 1.5" will give you the flow you need but will preserve the torque.

I said somewhere else to check Center Auto Parts in Chicopee. They had a '90-'91 LSC in white when I was there about a year ago. It was up the hill towards the back.

Nope, sadly not. The closest you'll get are Mustang parts or a custom fab job. I have heard Road Runner Exhaust does a good job, but I have never tried them personally. I had a hell of a time trying to get something instaled on my Continental. Go to a good shop if you want custom pipes. Otherwise, it's just a hassle.

IMO classic mufflers on commercial street in Holyoke are the best, i know the guy personally. I'll see what i can do. This thing is so slow my GF's caprice 9c1 kills it i mean kills it bad. So i think i am just doing exhaust and gears and buy a mustang on the side to build. This thing is just too heavy LOL.

Ok. Now I can step in and say WELCOME!

How long have you owned the Mark?
What preventive maintenance have you done to it?
How fast do you want to go?

Cool. That's a start. OK. If the tranny does not need a rebuild then this will cost less than 1K over the course of the next 12 months.

Step one: Take the car to the track exactly the way it is right now and post your time slip. Don't sweat it becasue it's goint to read like 17.6@82 mph. That's actually a good thing because after each correction to your car, you'll go back and see a change. Again, do NOT do anything to it until you get your BEFORE slips to show where you've been.

Oh, and to answer everyone's question, my best time is 15.0999999999.

The 9C1s with the 5.7L have 260hp. I am not surprised it's a quicker car. The Caprice will run 0-60 in the 6s all day. You run a mid 7 stock if your car is an '88+. You have less than 225 hp and less displacement. Start by making sure the car is up to specs. Give the car a tune up, replace the fuel filter, change all the fluids, and dump Seafoam into the take and gas tank. Super expensive ignition systems won't do you much but lighten your wallet. A good quality cap, rotor, and set of ignition qires will do you jsut fine. Once you have the car running perfectly, then start tuning. Dropping the silencer, adding a K & N filter, and replacing the intake tube with one from a speed density Mustang are all the cheap go fast mods. A cold air intake won't add much but bling. The stock air intake minus the silencer is good for up to around 350 hp before it proves to be a restriction. Exhaust will help and I'd go with a catted X pipe with different length Super Turbo mufflers.

Gears will help, but I don't know how wild you want to go. If you get any gears, remember to get the proper speedometer gear to correct the instruments. Anything past 3.73s will not have a proper speedo gear. You might pick up a little performance and longer tranny life if you install a Baumann Engineering shift kit and A servo. A transmission cooler will help a lot for transmission life as well. If you drive fast on the highway, numerically higher gears bring up engine RPM and can affect gas mileage. If your limited slip differential is really worn out, you should look at getting it rebuilt or replaced.

When you want to spend the big bucks, then you need to look for new heads and a new intake. You can also look to add a supercharger. Basically, you're looking for mods for a 5.0L Mustang. You can start looking on corral.net for Mustang parts too.

In the end, I found it cheaper and easier to modify the car for handling. I decided to go that route first and ensure everything else was up to snuff and then add power later.

Have any pics of the car?

Thanks Nick for the Chevy stuff. You ~know~ I'm lost in that area.

You took a little bit of the fun out of this for me. ~I~ wanted to be the one to tell him about the light wallet stuff!

Just to let you guys know i am well versed in the mustang field. I've had an 11 second notch and a 12 sec gt. If i was to get gears 4:10's worked good on my Gt's aod. I did a cap and rotor and fuel filter on the car already. Seems like either the fuel pump is going or something with the fuel because when i hold the car in gear it will not pull past 4500 rpm. I know stock mustangs pulled well past the 5000 rpm range. My gf's 9c1 went 14.7 @ 98!! i could not believe it. I bought another one but it ended up needing way way too much work so i dumped it quick and bought this 92 lsc for 940.00 from a kid in quincy. I'll get pics up soon. Also why do i need different length mufflers....???

Sorry, John, I did a 5 minute mind dump and I didn't remember who had what covered. Hey! I didn't tell him about the Jet chip.

Different length mufflers and different diameter pipes were used by Ford to control drone. The thinking is that replicating the size difference will help when going to aftermarket parts. I forgot when my car shifts but I know it isn't too late in the tach. If I had the car with me, I'd check. Maybe someone else could find out. Also, I don't know if you remember, but the AOD is programmed to hold 3rd at WOT to save the OD band.

I wonder if I know of that kid you bought the car from. Does he have a Bill Blass or another Mark VII?

No he is a firebird guy. And as for controlling drone. I can care less about drone. I had a set of dronemasters on each of my stangs and like them. LOL I'll go the cheap easy route. Mac cat pipe with Either dronemasters or macs. I cannot stand the sound of dynomax mufflers. Just not me. But once i put it all together i'll post video and sound clips

I am also thinking of pursuing a trade for a mustang and i'll throw in some money. If not i'll keep it for a bit.

How much work is involved in order to install a 5spd. besides the pedals and other crap, do i need a different crossmember, and will a mustang cross member fit?

Oh yeah.
Dude.
You don't need a chip yet.

A guy by the name of NYC_LSC did his own five speed swap and wrote a lot about it. A few searches should bring up what he wrote and where.
