Craigs listing...is this 4 real?

Found this '95 Mark on Craigs list...says the motor is a 5.4 stuffed in. Looking at the pic,
it damn sure looks like the stock 4.6 to me or else it has 4.6 heads/intake etc.
The price is right .... just wondering if a 5.4 will fit in and look like this???

Doesn't appear to be a wider, taller deck engine than a 4.6, and nothing obvious with the intake to make me think it was widened or adapters used.

The 5.4 wouldn't fit that readily without frame changes (big chunks hacked out), want to see what is required to put one in an MN12? TCCoA has some examples.

a 5.4 SOHC motor will fit.
a 5.4 DOHC really does not fit.
that motor is neither. its the stock 4.6 DOHC.

and it doesn't have a four link either.

Confirmed my visual abilities! Now I need an answer to challenging my vocabulary relating to non comprende' .....vas ist der "4 Link"? Is it like a "4 skin" or 4 valves/cylinder...or 4 plug wires/head

4 link is a type of suspension set up. popular in drag cars and off road trucks for their strength and adaptability.
there name comes from their 4 links.

in a jeep, for offroading. flexibility.


and a parallel version usually used in drag racing because its good at stopping axle wrap.


in both cases, its a solid axle thing, and the Mark VIII is IRS.

Really the heads on this 5.4 are twice the size of the 4.6 that i pulled out of it

It must've had a sohc 4.6 in it before...

Where did the 5.4l go? I sent him an email yesterday from a different addy acting interested and tried to get info out of him about the motor, very specific questions. He deleted it hours later and made a new posting.

Also appears to have 250,000 miles, from what he said in one of his emails I was under the impression that it had 61,000.

I'm emailing you about the lincoln for sale on craigslist, I have a couple questions.

How many miles does this have? Is there any rust on it and is the paint in good condition? Does the stereo come with it and do all the speakers work? Any odd engine noises and does the tranmission shift well? Why was the original engine replaced?

How many miles are on both the car and the 5.4l? Which raises another question, do you have documentation that it has a 5.4l in it? All of my sources have said that it's physically impossible to fit one in a Mark viii and that the picture you included is of a 4.6l. Is that a recent engine picture? Only reason I ask is cause it has the mark viii specific intake that isn't compatible with the 5.4l engines.

Yes stereo included, everything works on vehicle including all speakers, sunroof, locks, lumbar, seats, ac, heater, paint could use a waxing, there is no rust, car total 200,000 plus miles, air suspension been replaced coil over, dual exhaust, factory aluminum spare and full size tire.
