really...a modded smart car??

I wouldnt put 22's on an ls. I think 22' are better on chargers , impalas and chevys.

It's probably because the most of the "elders" on this site are older and wiser than the younger snot nosed youngsters on this site who are into bling over function.

Will a 22" wheel work? Sure. Will the car still act like it did on the stock wheels? No. The suspension wasn't designed with 22's in mind. Hell, when the LS came out 18's were all the aftermarket rage.

There is a lot to be said about rotational mass differences between an 18 and a 22 inch wheel. Let's not talk about suspension and handling. And to anyone who says "Yeah? Well my car rides the same way on 22's as it did on 18's", to you, I say you're on crack. Math is universal. It doesn't change just for you.

i must be that yonger snot nosed youngsters on this site that is into bling over function. WHY? because i like 22s over a set of 18s or 19s..i think there ugly..sorry. but personally i think you put 18s or 19s on rice burners and lil street racing cars not a ls. i think its either 20s or bigger. And i dont understand the big deal with lambo doors, there "ghey" why? if you can put 18s on a ls why the cant you put lambos on em...

i think andrizzle has the only car on lvc that i have seen that actully loooks awsome on 19s, by far the only good lookin ls on here with 19s

have you ever had a car with them? it get old fast, its one thing if it a trailer queen show car, but getting in and out of one on the daily just gets ridiculous. ive put them one two different cars, and both owners have told me it was cool for a hot minute, but it didn't take long until they wished they spent their money elsewhere.

no i haven't, and im sure it would get old but i dont drive my ls 24/7. Just every now and then on a nice sunny day.

well then i'd say, if that what you want, go for it. maybe drivign it so few it wont get to ya.

if another friend come to me and asked if i'll do the job, i'm not going to turn him down, thats for sure.

Just like I've said in a lot of other threads, get what YOU want. People on here are going to voice their opinion. That's what a forum is for, lighten up its just an opinion..

... And 22's look terrible on an LS, if a dope set of 22's were given to me I wouldn't even put them on

as a good rule of thumb, a wheel is too big for a car if interferes with lowering it, of all the sickest LS that you ever seen, all the great ones have been dropped. thats why a lot of the time, 20' look bad. no matter how bad ass the wheels are, if your riding at stock height, it just dont look right!

and there are a few cars that can drop a little on a set of dub deuces , most trucks can even lay frame with 20's or 22's. and lifting a car for wheels, well lets not even go there, lifting for wheels is never cool outside of trucks.

So you think a wheel is ugly because of the size??

The size of a wheel has nothing to do with what type of vehicle it is. do you know what wheelbase is? bigger car = bigger wheel.

smaller car = smaller wheel. The LS is a decent size ride but its just not big enough to fit a 22" wheel the right way. And you understand that it puts a strain on the suspension right?

want to replace every piece of the suspension? i sure as hell dont. again ima say i like 22's but they arent right for the LS. But get what you want its your money and your car.

"they're", not "there". Two different words, two different meanings. But I digress...

So then, why not go all out and get a set of 26's? I mean, bigger is better, right?

Do you realize that SEMI trucks have 22.5" wheels? That's only 1/2 inch bigger than what you think is cool.

And that's what it all boils down to: What you think is cool and what you like. It's your right (idiotic as it may be) to have 22's on a car never designed for them. And it is our right to point and laugh at you as we see you going down the street in your... well... modern day hooptie.

but personally i think you put 18s or 19s on rice burners and lil street racing cars not a ls.

I'm not overly familiar with the LS . Please educate me, what size wheels did the LS ship with, again? I could have sworn it was 18" wheels.

Now, I have no LS. Can't afford one. But I run 19" wheels on my car. Why? Because that's what suspension and powertrain engineers who forgot more than you and I will ever know about the subject decided was what the car needed. The suspension was designed around 19" wheels. The powertrain was designed around 19" wheels. The same goes with the LS. Believe me, the suspension engineers, when designing the suspension didn't foresee some kid (sorry, but you are) that wants to put 22 inch (or bigger) on their car. If you'd had told them back then that 22's would be the bling in 2011, they would have looked at you like you look at the short bus.

i think its either 20s or bigger.

I suppose we all have to compensate in our own ways.

And i dont understand the big deal with lambo doors, there "ghey" why? if you can put 18s on a ls why the cant you put lambos on em...

Because they are LAMBOrghini doors! Well, the style is. Your LS, while a fine automobile, (well, in relatively stock form, anyways), an Italian supercar it ain't. Sorry to break this news to you. Why not be an innovator and put Gull Wing doors on it, since you want to your car to be unique, just like every other car with a cheap $1200 "lambo door" car kit? The aftermarket "lambo" doors were cool once. One time. Just on one car. The first non Lamborghini car that had the idea grafted onto it. That's it.

i think andrizzle has the only car on lvc that i have seen that actully loooks awsome on 19s, by far the only good lookin ls on here with 19s

And that is your opinion. We're (at least I) are not trying to change your taste in cars (poor as it may be). We're trying to tell you that 22's on an LS is retarded for many reasons. It may look bling to you going down the street, but you're losing performance and rideability left and right with those wagon wheels under the car.

Bigger wheels are worth to have on cars that can go fast. And by "fast" I mean over 200MPH. But even those cars, most are running 19" wheels, not 22's.

Either way. Your car, your right to do as you wish. I'll just sit back and look at you like I look at the short bus when I see it go by and feel sorry for the poor bastage(s) who are occupying that bus.

theres a store called rent and roll. http://www.rnrwheels.com/page/rentnroll-1
you can rent rims there. i think its like 26 week minimum. then i think you can purchase your rims after the rental. maybe you should rent the 22' for a while and see if you like them. but 22's on an ls . maybe 20' . but 22'... idk its up to you.. i ride stock alluminum 16's i got a 00 v6 and its worth maybe 2600 on a good day, im not gonna get rims for my ls.

I remembered this one. Had to do some digging to find pictures.

That's an interesting way for the trunk to go up.. Any pics on the mechanism?

None of his. Its an easy flip flop trunk mod. Thou, I have been told by people that have done it. Sometimes there is leaking issues.
