Custom LED tailights

Nice work, Frank. Since people are so anxious to throw you money on this, have you thought about doing up a how-to manual? That's something that you could sell for 10 bucks a copy, and once it's done when a new buyer comes along you just fire off another copy.

On the rough looking appearance, how do you think it would work to cut a bit of mirror in a curve and glue it in the corners? A small mirror might be able to gather enough light off the adjacent LEDs to fill in the edges and make it appear smooth. You could use a piece of tinfoil as a test to see if it would be worth pursuing, so long as the tinfoil is kept far enough away to not get into the wiring.

Thanks. I think that once I figure out all the bugs, I shouldbe able to more in depth as too dimensions of the boards and such. But don't plan on charging anything. Its a fun project and although I havnt worked on it for a few weeks, still keeps my mind busy.

That's a good option. I had thought about something like that. The rough appearance on the outside edge of the brake\marker section could be improved with something like u mention. There's a factory opening on that side of the tail which allows the light to diffuse past the edge of the board. What u mention will be helpful. Even a barrier, reflective or not, would clean up that edge a bit. I think that's the edge you were mentioning.

Lol. I know, I've been slacking. Its been one thing after another. I'm currently in the process of transfering to a university and training for a half marathon.

I've requested a week off of work in early December just for the tailight project. Ill try and do some work before then. Project is still in my sights.
