Cylinder 7 misfire

Time to put the glue away!

EDIT: left the cap of the markers again :runaway:
I hate it when that happens... lol... its supposed to be like 10 degrees tomorrow so I may just risk it and drive it home... just depends on the wind chill... I can handle cold... bit cold and windy not so much... this summer I moced the COP to a different cylinder and drove it for a min just to aee if it would through a different code and it did so I knew it was bad. I think this go around ill just change it and hope it is the caise of the issue...

i get it - the downstream o2 will see too much scrub on the exhaust and throw an
inefficiency code.

i've seen on here about the finicky alternators, too. now i got nothing on that other
than wtf, over.

Not trying to be argumentative just trying to help based on my first-hand experiences.

I'm probably going to jinks myself here, but when I first purchased my LS it had a trashed converter that was throwing the dreaded P0420 code. The first task I did was to change out all my coils and plugs with Motorcraft and had an Eastern put on my car. I have yet to experience any problems with it. It's been a year and right around 10,000 miles since the work was done. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones with using an aftermarket converter...or maybe she just hasn't decided to reject it yet. Who knows? But as of right now I wouldn't have any problems recommending Eastern Catalytic Converters for the LS.

Update: bought one cop and drove up and swapped it out in the parking lot at work... had a plug also but needed a shorter extension to fit into the tube without hitting the brake fluid tank... but drove it home and no misfires... was super cold but it took me about 30 mins to do... it was pretty much dark by the time I got there so made it a little more difficult to get bolts out when you use the other hand to hold the flashlight... thanks again for the advice everyone.

Glad to hear that. The job sucked, but it's over and you've staved off clogged cats that much longer

Who else here, shivered and went "Brrrrrrr" when reading that bitter cold parking lot COP swap?

Kudos dj ~ "bitter sweet"

It was pretty cold... I had on long socks, 2 pairs of sweat pants, shirt with fleece and jacket, beanie, of a pair of mechanix gloves... my face wasnt covered and it was windy so that was the coldest part... im just glad one of them went out over the summer so I had some experience changing one before doing it in single digit temps...

know what you mean, put a new starter (white box part) in the wife's Grand Am in the fall because she found it "noisy", to only have it come back and bite me in the *ss (white box part) when it got cold out, it intermittently failed to engage, ACDelco went in during a windy snowy evening. Yeah I was REALLY enjoying that in the driveway!

of note: 'SHE' ordered the white box part online, all impressed with how good of a deal she got, I cursed it alright, wasn't paying attention, delivery one day, asked her WTF?, only markings on it where "Made in China" .... kid you not. Garbage junk!

it was -27C with winds here two days ago. I was putting logs on the fire all night. living room hit +31C, dog went to the basement!

that sounds cold at first, but then when thinking about it, you're good, that's still positive digits here...

on the other hand the other number still seems a little low... lol

"positive digits" there, I think not! -27C = -16.6F (winds add to it of course) Anyhow, supposed to only talk about cars and not use line-breaks, I'm unable to offer that today, so ... see ya!
