I am looking at 85 MK V11. It has no dash lites, radio and the alternator amp light is on. Where should I start. He said the alternator tested good and the battery is brand new. I have a chance to pick this up for $200. The car is running and is solid and straight with minor rust.

Have you checked the fuses?

Also, try turning off the auto controls.

Check the wiring on the starter relay. I was having AMP problems because of a split wire.

I had an 85 Mark VII...

When I purchased it dash was off.... Guy said it needed a new speedometer unit which he had...

I knew nothing about the car at that point...

When putting it all together I found that the entire dash unit needed to be plugged in, in order to get the dash to light up... This ment all units...

Message center, Speedo, etc.... the entire dash... Which tells me that there is a common ground...

What I believe is the Orange Wire - What I heard from Mark VII owners back when I was working on my 85...


But first look for the fuses... Then Find Old School.... He's a god of Mark VII's

Any Mark VII that runs is worth $200.00 If you don't believe me then buy it, drive it to my house, and then I'll give you $225.00 for it
