Thanks to all of you who helped me out with my problems in a former thread, dead on road. Consensus is I have to replace the alternator on the 95 with 90K miles. I was able to run a test using one of those hand held jobbies that gives you a code. Code translated as EGR sensor voltage too high or too low. Before I start fooling with the alternator can anyone tell me if a bad EGR sensor would cause the car to stall? From what I gather on the internet search for EGR sensor it has something to do with emission control. Just a quick refresh, twice in the past ten or 12 days the car would sputter going down the road, antilock brake warning light would come on, all analog gauges would drop to zero, car would stall and only start with a jump. The fine intelligent people on this forum have indicated bad alternator as the culprit. Only reason I'm asking for a little more feedback is the code, EGR sensor, and the fact that the car has only done it twice and is currently running fine. Wouldn't an alternator either be good or bad? As opposed to OK sometimes, not so OK the next. My wife's that way but the alternator???
