The module on the Air Bag system some how went bad. The Dealership is saying it's not covered under warranty and wants 600+ to fix the problem. No I thought that anything dealing with seatbelts, airbags and safety issues were covered no matter what..... Please help I need some ammunition to fight back with cause this has really pi$$ed me off.

Have you even tried calling Lincoln directly? Do that first. They will know for certain whether it's covered, and if it is, ask them to call your dealer for you to straighten things out. I did this when I had to pay for something that should have been covered. Fifteen minutes after I called Lincoln, the service manager at the stealerhip called me to apologize about the misunderstanding.

:I
It would be better coming from someone higher up within Lincoln, opposed to you going back "a bunch of guys on an internet forum said that this should be covered."
Also if you have the documentation regarding the warranty that would really help.

Have you actually read the warranty to see what is covered and what the limitations are? I would think that would be your first step instead of venting here. :shifty:

Anyway, what are the details of your car (year, mileage, in-service date, etc.). I just checked my old 2003 maintenance guide, and it says:

Safety Restraint Coverage

Under your New Vehicle Limited Warranty, Safety Restraint Coverage begins at the warranty start date and lasts for five years or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

During this coverage period, Ford Motor Company or Ford Motor Vehicle Assurance Company Warrants your vehicle's saftey belts and air bag Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) against defects in factory-supplied materials or workmanship.

Unless you've modified the vehicle or you've got more than 50K miles, seems to me it should be covered.

Guys this is not my car, it's my moms she called me all spazzed out, and I did not have any way of getting to the bottom of it while at work so I just wanted some quick answers. she has 02 LS V8.

Remind me to beat you senseless later. Post the details I asked above, then we'll talk.

For me it would be a rare occaision to allow a woman to go by herself to a dealer or parts store alone. I have too many horror stories to tell from our experiences. I know this sounds sexist but it gets worse if she has a foreign accent.

If you get me the complete vin number I will run it through ford and get the warrenty start date and see if it would still be covered.
You can call and I can run the vin while you wait.
