degas bottle change on 02 v8 sport

hey guys iv read through the threads and found info but it was for a 06 so i was hopin to get a step by step guide to changing degas bottle for my 02 v8 ls. i just ordered the dorman bottle so it doesnt come wit new hoses. thank you guys so much for your help i cant tell you how big of a help this site has been for me and my stinkin lincoln.

ps i already got the info from here on how to bleed out air so im good on that

it's a very simple process.

there is a 'tee' connecting the the hose (that comes off the bottom of the degas bottle) to the coolant tree - it's against the firewall, between the brake booster / steering shaft and the rear of the engine. If you disconnect it there, you'll be able to bring that protion of the hose up with the tank, swap the new tank on, install the tank (3 bolts IB) and then reconnect the hose to the tee.

thanks alot bro!! do i still need to take off the windshield wipers and the cowl thing to get at it like it says in the other directions for the 06?

The procedure is basically the same for the Gen 1, including pulling the tower brace, wipers, etc.
Just keep track of the hosts that you disconnect. The main hose out the bottom of the bottle is a major pain. I had to cut mine - was very glad I got the Motorcraft bottle with the hoses!
