Deleting the 2 front cats?

you can also use a chip to turn off the egr. that will also turn off the light and tune to run without it.

any c.e.l that is going to be sent on his 95 obd1 that he would not be able to tell he had a problem by drive ability issues or misfires is irrelevant, your engine could be catastrophically wounded, leaking oil, blown head all that b.s. and your c.e.l could still not turn on if your not misfiring. all your c.e.l does is tell you when your vehicles EMISSIONS are failing LMAO its a juke, its a light that bring you to the STEALERSHIP so they can A$$ rape the life out of you for a o2, or a evap purge, or a evmp "egr position sensor" so on and so forth. so rip the light out and unless you get a misfire, "will make the car shake" or your average mileage drops more than about 3 or 4 points between tanks than just drive her.

You don't need to go there. Some peeps like to have there CEL working.

Yes when I but the chip from SC? I will ask them to include this.

But I am pretty sure the CEL turns on because of the EGR.
The EGR pipe is not mounted to the new pipe and could very well send this signal. I think the O2 sensors are fine.
But should I block the EGR pipe? I think it is now open...I will not reconnect it back to the exhaust, I want to have my engine clean.

Update:
We did remove all 3 cats, and mounted some nice Raptors mufflers, great sound and hopefully better fuel eco and perhaps a few hp? We put the O2 sensors back in the same place as before, just now on new pipe, no cats.
When driving from the garage everything was just fine, BUT after few miles, the "Check Engine" light came on
The engine is fine.
After 1 hour at home I did start the engine again, and no "Check Engine" light. I went for a short drive and after 3 minutes drive it came on again... I stopped the engine for few sec and started again, no light, then after 2-3 min drive it came again, etc...
- I have not yet found a error code for this, but will write it here when I have, but again it could be difficult to do as the error only occurs after driving for 3 min...
- Anyone here have an idea what this could be?

I did the same thing on my Audi TT few years ago, I remember we did move the O2 sensors few mm from the pipe until it "fooled" the computer. Can we do the same here, will it work?

Will this error message have any affect on the fuel consumption? I presume the engine will be fine even this light is on?

Was it hard to remove the driver side cat? Can you please tell us your procedure.

No problem. My car is a LSC so it had full dual exhaust.
We just used gas/welded to cut the cats out, all 3 af them, we just made sure not to go near the O2 sensors. They are intact, we did not move them or touch them at all. Thats why we can not understand why we got the CEL on, but I am sure it is because we did not connect the EGR pipe again to the new exhaust pipe, we just welded it and blocked it. But I will reconnect this week to the new pipe. (EGR pipe goes down from the engine to the exhaust pipe in drivers side, just beneath the place where the O2 sensor is located). EGR can cause bad fuel eco, and in my case it does. I did measure worse fuel eco after having removed all the cats, and thats NOT normal, so I did some research and it turns out it is the EGR that is causing worse fuel consumption.
It was not so hard to get to the 2 front cats, easy with the welding equipment to reach, just make sure you are at least 1-2 inches away from the O2 sensors when welding or cutting the cats out. If you are to far a way from the O2 you just will cut inside the cats, and thats okay, they will not be used anyway...
The 3rd cat was also easy to remove. We just cut it out along with the muffler close to the cat. We replaced new pipes all the way from the point where we cut the front cat out, to the point right after the muffler we removed. There we made a connection in the exhaust so we can dismont it when working on the rear diff, which will be very soon with a 4,10 gears. I did have a look inside the cats and it is unbelievable that the engine can run normally with this much resistance... And finally we replaced the 2 mufflers in the back of the car with a pair of Rexton which gives great V8 sound on this fine engine :D
I hope this will help, I tried my best here...;)

i don't need to go there!!!!!!

its OK if you want to rely on some stupid meaningless light, but common sense would lead you to know that cars have been running far longer without c.e.l. than with. ALL THE C.E.L DOES IS TELL YOU WHEN EMISSIONS ARE FAILING, "EGR, EVAP ARE EMISSIONS RELATED" AND WITHOUT A CHIP THAT COSTS HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS, IF YOU REMOVE ANY OF THESE ITEMS THE LIGHT IS GOING TO BE ON. SO YOU CAN SPEND HUNDREDS ON A CHIP OR TAKE THE LIGHT OUT. If you have a problem with how the car is running than have it scanned, or if your gas millage drops more than 3-4 points. Or i guess you could spend at least 250 to get a light turned off, lmao sounds like a waste of money to me.

no. you don't need to go there.
so when your maf sensor and one of your oxygen sensors has failed and the cel is trying to tell you that you've hit max adaptive setting and you're still so lean your engine is about to explode, that's not a problem. it's just emissions.

stuck imrcs. vac leaks. fuel pump problems. transmission problems. oxygen sensors. intake air temo sensor. coolant temp sensor. mass air flow sensor. fuel system adaptive limits. pip. dis. spout. egr. you think it monitors all these things because its fun?
NO! it makes the car run better. when the car commands egr open, it leans the mixture out. if the egr does not open, THAT IS A PROBLEM and can lead to a disastrous lean situation.

car's are more reliable because the cel tells you when there is a problem.

emissons crap only? that's bull:q:q:q:q.

im sorry a assumed everyone "feels" there car as i do, i watch the tach shift points mileage, oil usage, etc. i have had my evap and egr gone for 2 years and scan my car every 2 or three oil changes, im sure when i had that bad o2 for 6000 miles while my egr was unhooked i did detrimental damage to my engine. lol

Did have some fun today on the 1/4 track, with no cats, dual exhaust with high flow mufflers and no air silencer. 14,7@96 with a bad 60´@2.275 sec. I am fairly satisfied with this, next step will be 1:3,73 diff ratio + locked diff + wider tires, and see if I wont beet this time.

Thanks guys. No I did not test it before, it would have been interesting though.
I only took one run where I did get time measured, the other runs where quite funny, I did wheel spin for about 150 m :p and my friends at the track enjoyed it, I felt like I was on dragster on similar :D, but after they addded trackbite to the track, I could lunch with out wheel spin. But still a bad 60´..I know a good stall converter will change that, but it is not cheap or what?
But the air flow is fine and it was rather cold or appr. 50F lots of O2.
After having tried this engine and the car, I would not mind to have 150 hp more......nitrous or blower, but at the moment I don't want to go inside the engine. Just keep it stock for now.
Any ideas from you on what to expect on the 3,73 gears?

And I must say, I like this car. I have not had US car for many years, been driving Audi TT for many years, and my Ford Sierra RS Cosworth both very good cars and quite powerful and very good handling in the Cossie. But this Mark VIII surprises me a lot. I might even do some performance changes on this car years to come.

Update:
I finally solved the problem with the CEL after having removed all 3 cats.
I did not remove or replaced the O2 at all.
The CEL came on, but was caused by the EGR pipe was not connected.
After having welded the EGR pipe back on again as orginal, the CEL disappered.
The fuel eco is slightly better.
