*snip* "What did that wire do?"

Pretty much how I feel right now. :\

My air suspension collapsed recently and, wanting the less expensive option, I ordered a conversion kit from Monroe (Via Rock Auto). The kit was really nice, even came with sensatracks for the rear, and easy on the wallet (comparatively). The instructions were extremely detailed for the rear, but a little confusing for the front; not a big problem, just took a little more time to figure out what I needed to do. All in all everything went pretty smoothly... Until I got to the part where it told me how to disable the "Check Air Ride" message.

It instructed me to cut the #12 wire (Dark Green and Light Green) and gave me a little diagram of what the plug looked like so that there would be very little doubt as to which wire I needed to clip. After some sweating and swearing, I got to the plug, pulled it, and snipped the wire. I reconnected the ground on the battery and switched the car's elec on and "Beeeeep" the message is still there...

I'm a bit worried about what that wire does, especially since it hasn't affected any of the obvious functionality of the vehicle. (Lights, console, radio, climate control, seats, brakes, steering, etc.) I dearly hope that it has something to do with the now disconnected air ride system, but would love to know what exactly I have killed by cutting that wire.

Ah yes, musn't forget...

Can anyone tell me which wire I was supposed to clip to disable the "Check Air Ride" message?

Are you sure you cut the right wire?

How much did the kit from Rock Auto cost btw?

no I believe they say in their post they are certian they have cut the wrong wire
THey want to know what is the wire they cut.. and what is the right wire TO cut.

$429.79 with $15 shipping. No option for a lowered kit, unfortunately, but you can't beat that price with a stick.

That is correct.

To be even more specific, the wire was dark green with a light green stripe down its length.

(obliglitory just say no to coil springs post)
even if it were 100.00 it wouldn't be cheap enough for me to do it.

Someone speculated once that it might involved the speed sensitive steering, but I cannot say.

If it were me, I'd hook it back up until I fould the correct wire

Wish I could be more helpful
(shuts up)

>.< Time to break out the soldering iron.

noobs??? Look KK, LOL...He's been a member since 2006...LOL, lucky me I'm going to unplug the black connector tomorrow...patient is a good until knowledge is built......

Did you cut the wire behind the glove box or at the connector behind the kick panel?

Typically I'd say talk to Eddie at American Air Suspension as he'd be the one who knows but you didn't buy through him and he's getting a bit tired of helping people fix what they phucked up when they didn't purchase through him... and he would have been much cheaper than Rock Auto.

I paid only $300 shipped on the set for my 93.

I promised Eddie I wouldn't say how much I paid for the lowered set on my 94...

Conversions or Air Ride is a matter of opinion.

oops...sorry i didn't catch that KK...well angel, I'd say forget the headache and crimp that wire back together and unplug the black connector
