Doesn't like to start. Low mileage daily driver.

Help: starting issues. Engine doesn't want to start often. Seems related to the brake pedal. Good running condition. Sometimes when. I go to start it, it sounds like a pin falls on the starter/flexplate. If I fiddle with the brake pedal, sometimes it will start. Electrical seems fine, air bags, radio, instruments all work fine. Runs fine, just doesn't start/turnover all the time. Brake pedal switch, neutral safety, starter relay

? Help.

Start with easy stuff. Do the brake lights come on when you have trouble starting?
Can you push harder on the brake pedal. I would move the brake pedal switch manually to see if that's the problem.

Issue resolved. Bad starter. Shaft and gear were wobbly and loose. In hindsight I wish I took it to an electric motor repair shop to have it rebuilt. But it is my daily and back on the road in 1day was important. I noticed that if the starter only fired sometimes, it meant that the problem was not up the chain but at the end.
