Well there is finally an "All American" in the family
Daughter's Distance Medley Relay finished 2nd at the NCAA Division III National Indoor Track Meet on Saturday!
It was a close race and came very close to taking first.

The Distance Medley Relay first runner runs 1200 meters, 2nd 400 meters (my daughters leg) third runner runs 800 meters, and last runner runs 1600 meters. It's a wild race which puts speed and endurance together in one race.

Here are some pics from the Meet.

The DMR is a very exciting race... hand offs get wild lots of bumping and pushing.. Often wipe outs... especially at this level where the teams are so close in ability..

It was a rush!! My stomach hurt for a few hours after from the excitement. I feel so good for her. She's been nominated for valedictorian of your class. Has carried a 4.0 for a few semesters. This track season has just been icing on the cake for a great college experience.

Full contact Track and Field LOL....

Rich, you need to get a Digi camcorder so you can post some vids of those races.

Thats great Rich,
Cogradulations to your family and tell your daughter she kicked ASS
Sounds like you have a couple good daughters:D :D
I remember watchng that in school and your right the handoffs can get crazy , loose a lot of seconds!!!

Oh sure Youngest just go accepted in the Boscobel High School's National Honors Society for her grades! And that one does have my genes!
Congrats to your youngest daughter on that high honor

Monday my youngest has her first official meet of the season. The updates will continue!! I'm too fired up and excited for this season.

Youngest has been getting contacted by many of the Division III colleges in the Midwest. Just hope it doesn't go to her head.

Rich, with you keeping her grounded i don't think it will go to her head.

Official Track meet #1 today. Going to be a late night!!! This one always take a while.... Should be back around 11:00 PM... Will let you know how things went.

Update - Sorry no picks this time.

Youngest daughter - 3rd in the 55 meter dash, 3 in the 400 meter dash, and 1st in the Long Jump. Not a bad first meet.

Next meet is Saturday... Our Athletic Director went a little crazy this year and scheduled 17 meets. That's too many in my book! Not much time to practice and get ready.
