The most important thing that all Christians or those claiming to be Christian need to remember...
It is not our or your right to judge others or their faith! That is Gods position and his privilege.
What has kept me out of Church for the past 1.5 years is that I am tired of self-righteous Christians toting the label WWJD judging others by non-religious ideals. In my opinion they are
In this season of Lent we should remember who was putting Christ to death.
The self-righteous of his time, people who thought they were better than others by what they did and how often they practiced their faith. Read the Scriptures and who did Christ dine with, and who were his closest people. They would not be considered the best people during any time.
Read the Gospels, Read them good, Then think WWJD.
I recall a story from Scripture when some of these self-righteous people were attempting to catch Christ in a questionable area..
The Story (not word for word) tells how self-righteous members of the church wanted Christ to tell them whether they should pay taxes, whether Christ would support the Heathen Roman Government. Christ asks for a coin and said whose image was on the coin. They said Caesar’s. His response was give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is Gods.
Having attended Parochial Grade Schools and High Schools - I was taught that Christ was telling showing us the separation between church and government.
As Christians we can be great Americans. As non Christian people can be great Americans. One Nation under God! Or not, God is with us we don't need these words to keep us a Godly Nation. We need God in our life; God is there no matter what the pledge of allegiance says. And if you don't believe in God, America will be there for you and so will Christians who will accept you and not judge you for your faith. Christians will your their faith in what they do to help show you the path to God (what they feel is right) but it is up to you to choose not up to Christians to judge you.
As for me I would hope that all people would become Christians. But as a Christian I hope that my life will let people see that Christians are there for you to show you a path to Christ. Christians are human, and make errors, and even sometimes do things that God may not find pleasing. But this is what forgiveness is and what Christ promises us and even expects from us. Otherwise would would have not needed him to sacrifice himself for us (as our Christian belief).
I don't care whether the words One Nation Under God are there or not. It’s not going to destroy America or make it a Godless Nation. I know that God is with me and that God is here with our Nation for all. America is Not just for those who are self-righteous, and Christ is there for all.
Now I am not claiming that anyone in this thread is self-righteous or is acting in any way self-righteous. It was just a rant that I went on my 2 cents, my rights as an American, rights given to me by our Constitution.
Just like it is anyone’s right as an American to voice their oppositions to my opinion. But it is not your right as a Christian to judge me I leave that up to God and In God I Trust! Damn me if you want it won't do you any good you don't have the power to do so!
