So, i know that the mark has a knock sensor, and will adjust the timing for gas that is below the oct rating for the car....but will it also do it for better gas, and give it just a little more power? Cuz i accidentally put 94 in the car, and all night she was running better than she has before, if the track were open i would have gone just to see if there realy was a diffrence.

It will only change parameters if its bad gas. If its good gas which it was it will just run fine. I ALWAYS use 94 no matter what, whenever or wherever. Sunoco is the $hit.

I've ALWAYS used Premium gas... have never used a gas in my Mark VIII below 92 octane. I prefer Shell V-Power or BP.

The mobil station up here in CT sells 100 octane... but its about 5.50 a gallon. When i get a few bucks I'll put a couple gallons in and see how my car runs then

It will run like crap, the higher the octane the harder it is to burn. I saw an LS-1 do this one night at a then local 1/8th mile track and he could not muster better than 12 second times losing to a v-6 Mustang, a V-6 Camaro and a cutlass ciera station wagon.

Hey Guys, I just got my 96 lsc - don't know what they used - what should I use? I know the car was well taken care of cause he did oil changes every 3,000 miles and he is clean inside outside and even his bellie is yummy! So prev owner prob used 93, of course that is what I have used but only filled him up 4 times so far - but we have a 10 hour drive home so I will be able to test it out - what do you suggest.

I love this site - you guys know everthying!
