Ebay fail

What about dirt and stains, things you cant simply vacuum out? That's my beef with carpets.

I mean, I go disc golfing a lot and I've never had dirt/mud that wont come out (once I had to get the shampooer out, but it did the job for sure). Stains I definitely worry about, but thats why there arent any open colored liquids allowed in my car :) But I definitely see the benefit of rubber, I just dont like it personally.

That's why you get mats. Easier to replace than the car's carpet... though when you get some that nice you need a mat for your mats! lol

Or, you keep the pretty ones for when you want to impress and use a plain set for everyday use.

The rubber mats look awesome in person. I'll have to snap a pic.

I use generic Michelin mats front and back. The back ones are still clean, but my driver side front has a tear in it... no good with the winters up here. Gonna order up some all-season Weathertechs soon.

After a quick cleanup in the back:

303 Fabric Protectant (think ScotchGuard) does an awesome job of keeping the carpet mats in good shape. Between that, vacuuming, and scrubbing them with hot water when necessary they do not stain.

Regarding cleaning of cloth mats:

My mats are cleaned regularly. Between the Metro Vac-n-Blo and the Little Green Machine proheat with Ultima interior shampoo and chemical guy's lightning fast stain extractor, I can keep them looking nice.

I have dealt with some very badly soiled mats that I had to lay out on the sidewalk, use a brush and all purpose cleaner, scrub, and pressure wash to remove the grime. But they also take quite a while to dry when doing it that way.
