Hey guys,

I'm going to be tossing new front brakes and rotors on the car this coming week.

I'm going to be picking up Bendix Rotors from Discount auto.

And the brake pads Im looking at are Axxis Ultimate via ebay

Is that a good buy or no? Or should I go with the bendix ceramic pads from discount @ $65 Other suggestions are welcome.

Also I'm looking at new coils:

R1 Concepts

There were a few posts on here that said that they were happy with R1 Concepts. I also thought about purchasing from them. Most people commented it depends on what you are using the car for (Highway, city, race, etc.).

I have a commute for work. So its a mix of highway and city'ish driving.
And ofcourse there is also spirited driving at times ;)

I have read many posts in terms of the R1 concepts Drilled / Slotted rotors in regards to cracks and wear. I feel normal rotors will be just fine. I cannot seem to just find slotted.

What other brakes are good. I can also get bembro's.

I have the axxis ceramic street/race pads with the R1 premium slotted and drilled rotors and they are amazing but the pads do make alot of dust.

porterfield r4-s pads produce the lowest dust of any pad i've researched... only had them on my car a couple weeks but in that time not a speck of dust. braking is also very competent.

i think the scare over drilled/slotted rotors is more conceptual than factual, though of course they have been proven to crack earlier than other types. but in those cases where they cracked, what were the driving habits of that person? trying to race their car with street rotors? braking like a moron? temperature in their area? there's lots of factors, and i think for the everyday driver who treats their car properly, those factors are mostly irrelevant.

Are the global coils the ones that fit? Or the ones that wont seat on the wire connector? I've been wanting to order some new coils, but wasn't sure which manufacturer the LSv8 owners were having the issue with. Should probably sticky a thread on which ebay sources sell the correct products for our vehicles and whether + or - feedback. Anyhoo, good luck with the brake upgrade, and let us know if the coils fit correctly.:)

I'm just going to put bendix brake and rotors all the way around the car.

I figured in shipping costs for the axxis, and it wont be worth it. The bendix has the same materials.

That is a good idea though in regards to the coils. I'm wanting to know how they perform and their longevity is.

i would go with rick advices thats what i went went ri concepts cross slotted with the posi ceramic pads great combo
