Eibach Pro-kit Lowering Springs

If I install EIBACH PRO-KIT LOWERING SPRINGS on my LS (17" Wheels), will I need an EIBACH Alignment Kit as well? Will installing these void any part of my factory warranty? Will I need to do anything additional to my LS to keep it true, if I install these?

I just ordered a set for my '06 w/ OEM 17" wheels. I did not order the alignment kit, betting that with only a 1.1" drop, the camber would be OK. I'll let you know how it comes out after they're installed next week.

BTW Any mods to your suspension usually does void your warranty. I my case. The dealer just thinks the rims and body-kit makes it look lower.:slam

I've never known anyone who actually needed that alignment kit.

I had the Eibach Pro Kit installed on my 2002 LSE a month or so ago along with new replacement stock Sport package shocks. Im running 18 inch rims with 245 40 tires. The rims are a 42 offset I think. No rubbing at all, and I'm slightly amazed at how well the ride quality remains. I was expecting a much harsher ride, but can barely tell the difference. Steering response is quicker, probably due to the shorter sidewall tires..and I can feel road imperfections a bit more, but as far as bumps/potholes/rutted roads...there is only a slight loss of ride quality under those conditions. Handling is a significant improvement. ZERO acceleration squat/ZERO brake dive. I now wish I had gone to Eibach Pro's years ago on my BMW I used to own.

How did you get a 1.75" drop from a 1.1" kit?

Here are stock 17's with a 1.75 drop, my photo garage has the 19's on the same 1.75" drop if you want to look there as well. If you use the Intrax springs with a 1.75" drop you will DEFINITELY need to get your alignment done. I tore through a set of tires in less than 3000 miles w/o the alignment after being dropped down.

Question, the offset on my 18s is +40, and it seems like they stick out far enough that with a 1" drop they're going to rub a lot. If I look at the side, the rubber is almost flush with the side of the lip of the fender, so I'm expecting a lot of rubbing if I do it. This is only on the rears, I have plenty of room on the front I think.

Has anyone had this problem with a 40 offset? I dont know if I can do 1" on the back without a lot of tire wear.

I've actually used them all summer, but took them off for winter up here. I went with either 245 or 255, dont remember which. What would happen if I lowered the front and left the back stock? The back looks lower than the front right now anyway (I had another post about this at one point). Anybody want to split the cost of some eibach springs and let me have the front 2? haha. I know people are going to shudder when I say this, but what if I cut the front springs a little bit? Bad idea I know, but very very economic. I dont want to buy a set of lowering springs and then not use two of them.

I hope not, I just ordered a set today.

Never heard of that. Dealer would have to verify that the springs caused whatever other problem that you might have, when you bring it in for warranty work.

How did you get a 1.75" drop from a 1.1" kit?

Back in 2004 when I ordered my Pro kit Eibach springs they were advertised at 1.1" drop. Actual measurement indicated a 1.25" drop after installation and close to 1.5" drop after setting. I noticed recently that they still advertise a 1.1" drop, but in another section the kit is advertised at 1.1" to 1.5" drop. At one time they did sell a competition kit that dropped 1.75" on install and sometimes ended up closer to 2" drop. (Tough for street driving)
