Hey guys, hopefully you can help...Just walked out to my car and the fan was running. Weird, I've been home over an hour, so I get in the car to pop the hood...The heat is actually running, and the clock is still on. I turned the heater off and it of course stopped running, but the clock is still on, as though the ignition was on. Took the keys completely out of the ignition, clock still on and heat switch can still be turned on and off. Any suggestions? Of course it would happen when my husband is out of town. :/

And I just realized I said clock, it's actually the climate control display.

It also bears mentioning, we just had the PCM rebuilt and I buttoned up reinstalling all of the trim under the dash, passenger side, inside and under the hood so it's possible I bumped something loose without noticing.

I had a similar (although not exactly the same) issue with mine in terms of certain things not shutting off properly using some aftermarket keyless entry fobs. I re-performed the programming procedure (see below) and the problem cleared itself up. BTW this only works on GenII vehicles. Given that you just had the PCM work done, you might also want to run it through a few drive cycles. Just guessing on my part.

Yes, for 2000 - 2002 that is true. For 2003 - 2006 you can do it yourself.

How to reprogram your remote entry transmitters
You must have all remote entry transmitters (maximum of four)
available before beginning this procedure.
To reprogram the remote entry
transmitters:
1. Ensure the vehicle is electronically unlocked.
2. Put the key in the ignition.
3. Turn the key from the 1 (LOCK) position to 4 (RUN).
4. Cycle eight times rapidly (within 10 seconds) between the 1 (LOCK)
position and 4 (RUN). Note: The eighth turn must end in the 4 (RUN)
position.
5. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that the programming
mode has been activated.
6. Within 20 seconds press any button on the remote entry transmitter.
Note: If more than 20 seconds have passed you will need to start the
procedure over again.
7. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that this remote entry
transmitter has been programmed.
8. Repeat Step 6 to program each additional remote entry transmitter.
9. Turn the ignition to the 1(LOCK) position after you have finished
programming all of the remote entry transmitters.
10. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that the programming
mode has been exited.

I would reinsert the key and make sure that it is fully turned off before pulling the key out... while I haven't seen it with the LS, I have seen it happen a time or two where the key could be pulled out of the ignition before it was fully in the off position.

By fan, I assume that you mean the HVAC blower, and not the engine fan.
The PCM is not involved with the HVAC blower. The DATC controls it via the blower speed controller. It could be either of these or wiring. Was any rewiring done? Is anything other then the DATC and the blower staying on?

Weird, battery went dead from the power draw, charged back up and now it's fine.

Joe, yes, I meant HVAC, not motor fan. I didn't think the PCM was doing anything to cause the issue, I was concerned I had bumped loose or unplugged something replacing the trim but it appears to be working fine now. It was strange though, the entire climate control display had power with the car off. I could turn on the heat, ac, rear defrost, everything. And it happened every time I stopped.

Well it's working now! Thanks for the input everyone.
