Had to take the 95 for an emission check HC's 31ppm out of 65, .11%CO out of .35%, NOx 120ppm out of 761 That's running clean FLUNKED--gas cap n/g 1 on order for Gen 1 and one for Gen2. Always more BS

Leave it up to a fuggin' gas cap. But hey, that's what you get for owning a obd1/gen1.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought OBDI (pre-1996) cars didn't have to have smog emissions tests. Here in NC, anything older than 1996 is just a visual inspection. And in some (not all) counties, even 1996 and up OBDII cars are visual only. I had my '97 LSC registered in non-OBDII Montgomery County to avoid the $35 inspection charge. But I can have the '95 registered anywhere in NC and it's only a $13.60 visual inspection.

I take my car to Midas to get the test done.

I wanna move. Here in CRAPY CT 96 and above they just plug in 95 and lower they have to shove a sensor pipe up both exhausts, and take temp readings in the engine bay. If you don't pass, spend X amount of $$$ and it's OK. I thought tests were so you don't polute the air. All it is like all government is the $$$$$$$ I lived in CA for 21 years and it was the same $$$$$ BS BS BS

Well there you go. Thems the rules in NC. Other states differ. I don't have any inspections at all to deal with.

Must be. I always thought that the pre- and post- OBDII inspection rules were nationwide in any state that still did inspections.

I know what you mean. My aunt used to live in South Carolina and she didn't have to get her car inspected. NC has been talking for years about doing away with vehicle inspections, but they get too much $$$$$$$ from it. So I don't see it going away any time soon. I'll just have to keep registering my '96 and up vehicles (if I ever get another one that new ) in a non-OBDII county.
