Your imagination
I replaced my DCCV today and in the process of bleeding the cooling system I cracked the plastic engine fill cap so it no longer holds pressure. It's been one thing after another on this project.

Is this a part that the dealer can just get for me or do I have to buy the entire housing/neck? I'd like to just buy the cap. My plastic is in pretty good shape yet.

If I have to buy the whole thing I think I'll go with the aluminum Jaguar 4.0L kit. here.

Thanks.

I would buy that anyway. If the cap broke the other plastic parts can't be far behind!

Yeah that looks sweet a nice upgrade for peace of mind.

Anyone on here done this? Part number?

EDIT - There's one on rockauto that is specifically for the 2000-2003 Jaguar S-Type. I'd bet that's the one. Its on the way.

Definately added to the wishlist. Now if someone can find an aluminum coolant loop that it attaches to I'd be even happier.

The one i really want is an aluminum degas bottle.

I got the kit and it's a good match. The part number is NCE2247ADKIT on rockauto.com I haven't installed the whole housing yet, I just stuck the aluminum cap on the oem housing for now. I'll do the rest next spring when I do my next partial coolant change.

Looks like the p/n for the 2nd gen is AJ82217KIT. At least I know there's now a dealer (and better than factory) alternative for my '06s.

just an FYI - the original engine fill cap is available through your local ford garage....I will be more careful tightening it next time!
