Face Face Help

Ok, I had to fix the number bulge on the right side. Thanks for the help, I'll post picks when i get it in.

If anyone else wants to make their own gauge face I can send the scanned image. Its too big to post in scale at a decent res.

I like that last one. Reminds me of the AMG gauges in a Mercedes Benz SLK 55

I like the last one alot. Can you put the little fuel icon with the arrow on it though? Just curious how it would look. I've let family members borrow my car and the fuel door on the right messes them up.

Add a fuel logo and temp logo and fix the rpm and mph you forgot to change the font for it to sportsnight as well.

font looks good though.

I was going to have the message center screens with blue screen (transparency), not sure if that will look ok or if it needs to be green.

I talked with the printer today, he has a few ideas and is working up a sample. He did say this will either be really easy or really difficult. I also checked into the whole transparancy sandwhich idea, but most of the local printers I checked with didn't have 11 x 17 transparancies. (I already know I cant spell, but feel free to point it out :) )

For me this will replace the original, no overlay.

Will the numerals/lettering be white or clear? I assume white so the light from the rear will be properly diffused when lit (and the white will be readible during the day without the back lighting).

The letters are white, and I am trying to have a blue layer added behind the gauge to light them up blue. I guess changing the bulbs would work if the blue layer doesn't work.

I got a homemade version of the gauge face installed. The printer is getting a vinyl copy ready. I dont think it looks bad. I figured why everything was apart, might as well install paddle shifters too. Thanks QuickLS for the write up.

Where do I send my order?! :D

Very nice ! Cleans up and modernizes the look a lot.

I would like to see a back-lit pic when you get a chance.

(also, very cool on the paddle shifters. It looks like a brave undertaking even with the tech article write up to refer to)

I am waiting on a printer I work with to work of a vinyl version which will look better. Mine is just a transparency sandwich, but I can take a back lite picture tonight.

I am happy to provide the files to anyone who wants to print one though. They are too big to post on the forum.

This is sweet and thanks for listening to our suggestions.

If you put these on fleabay you could make some serious cash.

That does look good! Maybe the numbers are a little small?

Something seems almost too plain. But i definitely like it!!!

This in combination with a sanded down green back to bring white thru will be hott!!

That looks really good. Can you tell me what someone with no 'hook ups' would pay to have it printed?

BlackLS06 - Your welcome. Unfortunately I cant sell any of my artwork. I like my job. :)

FastLS - The needles came off pretty easy. I used a fork with a tong removed. I slid it on a piece of paper towel. To reinstall them I made sure my gas tank was full turned the key on, and set all the gauges: Temp, Tach and MPH at 0, gas at full. I disconnected the battery to finish a few things and the gauge did a sweep when I reconnected it. It seems to be fine. I have not GPS'ed the speed but havent got a ticket yet either.

Andrizzle- This replaces the face, so no sanding required.

Jolinc01 - Not sure. I would image 20 bucks. Once I get a finished print from the printer I can check on a small run if there are enough people that want to share in the printing cost.

I called a place called Black Cat customs, who can print a "replacement" face if I provide a vector drawing. I hate illistrator, but I will give them a shot too. I keep you posted.

This replaces the entire thing? I was thinken it was just a layover.

So how does this look lit up??
