My factory Infinity radio with CD changer turns on when the car is on. 1995 Mark VIII.
I can turn it off by pressing in the on /off button. But I have to hold the on/off button in to keep it off. When I take my finger off the button, it turns on again. Causing the antenna to raise. Not what I want when I park the car.
Can anyone that has a factory radio that works properly tell me: When your radio is OFF, is the on/off button in the lower position?
It seems I read somewhere that there is a little catch inside the radio that holds the button down and it is plastic and always breaks.
I bought a spare radio from Ebay, but it has a button that won't stay down either.
So I haven't tried the spare radio with power applied.
Does anyone know how to fix the on/off button?
