I would like to know if anyone has ever
made a fake faceplate for their double din nav radio for their LS. Can it be done. Are their any pic out there of a LS with one?

That seem like it would be tough to do since the existing area is flat.

The mounting bezel for the LS's factory Nav system is the off-the-shelf part people normally use for that. It is, IIRC, aluminum, and already has a finish that matches the center stack, so all you have to do is Dremel out the appropriately-sized hole in the middle.

I dont get it.Why would you make a fake faceplate for your double din if there are benzels out there to fit double din installations. I dont get what you mean by fake either.

The fake face plate would be for theft prevention. Some people with double din nav units have made a faux radio cover from an old stock radio to cover their nav screens to prevent theft when they park their cars. I've seen them made for hondas and nissans, but I never seen one made for a ls. I think they can be bought on eBay. However the premanufactured one would probably look too fake since the ls radio's area is flat.

A little overkill, don't you think? Hondas and Nissans are much higher targets than the LS is.

ooooooooooooh. Fake to fool, I get it. I thought you meant fake as in not original or something along those lines.

ah ok. I see. Thats pretty cool.
