The other Day Scott9050 posted a link to these tires. I was in need of tires for my 93 Mark VIII so I thought I'd give them a try.

On of my Questions was weather they'd be good in Wisconsin Snow!!

Well it snowed today and I took them out for a try.

Let me tell you that they are not the best tires in snow but! They are pretty good.

I took them on unplowed roads drove them at road speed and slightly above. I had no problems driving in the snow with these tires.

As long as you took typical snow driving precautions I would recommend these tires for anyone looking for an non-bank breaking set of tires. Dry Road noise in minimal and handling is good. Looking at the tread design I feel that they would do fine in rain. Haven't had that opportunity yet.

The only problem I encountered was backing out of my friends driveway. I had to make 3 attempts to get out.

I would recommend driving with the traction control on. At normal speeds and typical snow driving with the traction control on I did not slip or slide.

With traction control off they broke loose a little more easy but with typical defensive driving techniques the car stayed under control.

I also took the Mark up to 55 mph on an unplowed highway. Accelerated fine and tracked well. (Normal snow driving precautions recommended anytime driving in snow).

I did not have any excess weight in my trunk other than a small tool box and spare tire.

Conditions were about 3" of snow on the ground with snow falling. Wet heavy snow.

all seasons are just not safe enough in low temperatures, in my opinion. the rubber compound freezes and then you are screwed. but thank you for the review.

Yes, the 255/50/16 will fit just fine. I have a set on my sensor lowered 96. Installed them in August of 2003 but I don't remember the mileage. I will be putting a new set on this week, as soon as Discount received them. Highly recommended.

I have size 235-55-16 Falken 512s on my '00 LS and I'll second a recommendations for a good tire. This was my 2nd winter on them and never had a problem. They ARE good in rain too. WAY better than the factory Firehawks I had.

I have those in the 245/50 16 variety and did just fine with them in the winter. Even drove around during the worst two storms we had with no problems. I got stuck, but it was more due to the fact my car is so low.
