OK, I made the call for my Ferrari 19" staggered set of wheels. This time ( 3 weeks later ) the guy tels me he has to up the price cause I need special lugs. The price went from 695$ to 895$ just to add the lugs.

What is so special about these lugs? Are they just cause of the aftermarket wheel? I here some times with alloy aftermarket wheels they don't recommend factory lugs and they recommend that after being removed that you re-torque them. Is this the same case? Are they shorter or longer or something?

If so tell me what you guys that have the wheels used for the lugs. Did you go with the lugs they suggested, did you use the factory or did you find them at a cheaper price?

I have other lugs since the ones for the LS suck so bad so if I could I would like to just use them since they are what some call the acorn style with the closed end on top ( exactly what should be used for a wheel with open faced lugs ).

Also would a lincoln center cap of some kind fit?

Overpriced you probably need tuner lugs which are like 100 bucks.

I dont think that is what he said. He said something about some adapter at one point but then he said if I had aftermarket wheels I may be able to use those.

I really couldnt understand what the guy said when he mentioned the lugs, he had a Europen accent of some kind lke maybe Itallian or something. I asked him twice and still couldnt understand so I just played it off.lol!

Bump...

Anyone?

These guys are really starting to piss me off. I may recomend them stil but at this point I almost dont wanna deal with them myself.

I call today and say to myself ahh what the hell I could buy what ever I need after I make the purchase and now I talk to a different guy that tells me the price was wrong and he wants a extra 300$. It says right one the site. 695 for the wheels and he is telling me 795$!!!!, then I got a dirt cheap, what he said was a solid price from the person I talked to yesterday. With Tires and shipping it would amount to 1095$ DIRT CHEAP RIGHT? Well now Im getting hustled. I still think it may be a good price if thats what others are paying but since I got so many different prices I wanna choke these people.

I really think these guys are full of BS!

Its Modular Wheels on E-Bay. The same place everyone else is shopping at for the same wheels.

If they won't sell for the auction price you won, leave em bad feedback and report to eBay!

See that is the thing. I gave the number a call to talk to them directly with out going into auction.

See the jerk I spoke with today didn't even ask for the item number or anything. I just think he didn't want to deal with it and gave me what ever price he felt.

They sell outside of e-bay and apparently they start the auction at what the selling price is normally (this case its $695) then that is where the bids start ( no one ever bids ). That right there is a bit shady, normally I would imagine them starting it at a lower price and trying to match it or go higher not start at what they sell it at and try to go higher from that. It also has no buy it now price.

The item is no longer on e-bay, the auction ran out of time but the item still pops up and they do still sell it outside of e-bay if you give them a call. The man I spoke with the other day was very thorough. He asked for the item number, went over the description, asked what type of vehicle and gave me a few options. This dick just said we don't have anything at that price its $14?? for everything and thats it. He told me I never talked to a Peter and when I asked to get through to his extension he wouldn't.

I am still going to try to talk to the other guy cause I would pay the other price to be honest cause thats what I thought it would be around but I feel this guy has it all wrong and I will for sure get the wrong item. That is where I am getting frustrated.

Any way I am still looking for info on the lugs cause if I need to get something special that would be hard to find I will just get them from them but if its not that hard I doubt the $200 they tack onto it is worth the while not finding it cheaper. Im thinking it is just hub rings or conical lugs like I have allready.

I talked to the guy I talked to the last time now its up to $1795. They took my credit info put it in the system and charged. They then told me that it was $895 for just the wheels then 900 for tires. Now I have to call Visa and have the transaction canceled.

Unless you are prepared to deal with some headaches don't deal with these guys. If you wanna pay a flat out price that they give you off the bat fine but I tried to get some deals with them on some this not needed and they wanted to start jacking things up on me! I'm not trying to be cheap I had planned on spending more but come on look at these figures.

Just the other day it was $1095. Very unexpected deal!

Today it was $14??. Something I was thinking about.

Now its $17??. Hustled!!

I am still getting the same price on the wheels them self if I go down that route but I am trying to get some good deals with a tire package from them. Anyone else have sugestions on where to find a good deal with someone willing to work with you as a customer.

there are cheaper tires than the 900 the quoted you at. get the wheels, if you really want them and just buy the tires separately. if anything you probably save on shipping since it'll just be the wheels. you can get some good tires for about 600 i believe. keep us updated, always good to know what dealers to stay away from

Thanks, I was looking into Federal just for the summer and then switch up later. I just want to get this started already. They were going to give me the most basic Verdestines...lol Yeah right $900 for that?

The shipping would be the same cost with the tire package but now its as if they aren't even recognizing it as a package.

Either way I am F*** till I find out what goes on with my Visa card. I got money but not just to play with you know?

I got myself around $107 a tire with out cost of shipping, then I have to think about mounting and balancing In my area its hard to find someone that will do wheels and tires you give them for insurance reasons and its all getting to me now.

I was thinking of the TSW Holstens but the place that I was talking to is Corporate owned and wont work with me on tires. They want to go by the specs in the computer but wheels size available is 18x8 19x9.5 and some size in a 20 ( with the 5x108 lug patern they have to be blanks that ge drilled )and I dont want 20"s and I feel the Holstens would look funny in a size smaller than that and 9.5" wide. I don't feel like dealing with a 19x9.5 in the front either cause the best offset I can get is 46 nothing higher and they wont go slim on the tires just what the computer says.

I purchased a set of rims from Modular Wheel through Ebay. I was very thankful that I went that route. After winning the auction, paying for them through paypal & then receiving my shiney new rims by UPS, they then made a claim through Ebay that I had not paid for my rims. The first thing that came to mind... who the hell would ship merchandise without it being paid for?!? Thanks to Ebay & Paypal I had proof of payment. Modular Wheel can suck it.
The rims were beautiful, but I won't be dealing with them again because their service is so poor.
I bought a set at $695 + $225 shipping. They also listed the same rims with tires at I believe $1495 + $225 shipping. I see the same set listed now with a new price.... $995 + $195 shipped & w/tires $1,995 + $195 shipped.
So yeah, for some reason they have decided to jack their prices & your wallet up! Oh and by the way, if you call to talk to one of their reps and happen to get put on hold (like I did), there is a nice recorded message about wheel prices... I do recall it said shipping on a set of 4 rims was $99, how funny.
So yeah. Deal with them using caution.

They started changing the price on me when I told them I dont need the lugs and center caps. Oh the E-Bay page says 100 for the lugs but they acted as if they werent even just lugs and wanted 200.

They then still kept trying to say oh well it is for the caps and lugs. Man I got so much crap from them I dont know what to think anymore.
