First Mark VIII, First Post

I would knock $1500 off of my earlier estimate for the damaged paint. I somehow missed that in the initial post.

Yup, an $1500-$2k car if everything else is good. He broke even, I wasn't trying to knock him down. I've been trying to be constructive instead of just saying "hi" and adding filler. I try to be involved with new people so they feel welcome. I agree, if it had good paint it would likely be a $2500-$3k car around here. I know they also go for maybe 1/4 of thier value less here. If that car is truly in good condition, and gets a good coat of paint, even if he paid $1000 for the paint work because he couldn't get the deal I can, he would still be doing OK.

Anyway, thehamm99, for your dirty interior get Magic Erasers from the household cleaning area of your local supermarket. They are GREAT, don't use too much pressure, just work it as long as you need to while being fairly light and keeping it damp. Use woolite on the stubborn areas, diluted to a 3:1 ratio with water for extra effect.

It's nice to see we are still picking up new enthusiasts. Your Marks looks pretty decent, I suggest you get the mechanical stuff done first before you dump money in a paint job. Cheap insurance, change the spark plugs now. Don't assume the previous owner did it.

Okay so I just got $320 for the "extra" engine the guy gave me with the car...

so now we'll call the sale price $1480.

Nah, we'll call it $1800, and now you got rid of the motor you're gonna need when the one in your car explodes.

:p

Well screw it! I am gonna jump right on that bandwagon....

YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS! Parted, just because the engine went bad... MONSTER!

Good lookin car! Welcome to the site man.
also...what did you use to clean the intake manifold with?

Thanks Isaiah,
That particular manifold I haven't touched, but on the engine I sold I used a drill with wire brushes to take off rust (mostly on the flywheel), and a $3 can of degreaser from autozone.
