I hear you, but your two statements bolded and underlined above..conflict with one another, wouldnt you agree?
Second set did last about 100K. But they never had to sit at idle in hot weather for over an hour like the original ones. From reading it sounds like other guys have had 50K + on factory. So maybe mine are at the high end of normal.
I guess we should look at it as an improvement over the old style distributors and coils which needed regular(12K or so) maintenace and often rebuild or replacement well be fore 100K.
I am definitely seeing heat related effects right now. I am procrastinating on replacing the coils since it is a pita to do. But, when the temps around here are over 100 degrees, my coils start to stumble very noticably before I get home on my 45 minute commute. When the temps are cool, I get maybe a slight miss after a long drive.
Wonder if I can be lazy thru the winter or need to bite the bullet soon.
