Ford Employee Purchase Pricing for Customers

This will cause the price of used Lincoln's to hit bottom !! Why buy a used one, when you can buy a new one for about the same price ??
So much for the value of my LS

When I look at a car I dont look at it as any type of investment or money return item, I try to look at it as paying for a long term service. In my eyes vehicles, no matter what type, depreciate soooooo much that you might as well not even worry about depreciation anyways. Whenever I buy a vehicle I buy with the full knowledge that it will probably not be worth squat compared to what I bought it for. That is why I just hold onto my vehicle and take good care of them. A 5-8 year old vehicle to most would not be worth much. But a 5-8 year old vehicle that I have taken care of and know exactly what is wrong with and has gone wrong with is priceless. I plan on buying an LS soon. Within the next 4-5 months and I hope this does drive the price down a little more for that simple fact. Besides, the LS's along with every other luxury cars values drop faster than a rock outta thin air! I dont imagine that this will have THAT much of an affect on an already plummeting value. Heck that is one of the biggest reasons why I am turned onto this car! Great car and damn good price! I dont feel like paying $40,000 for a car anymore, not that I ever did. Either way man all I am saying is dont feel too bad. You still have the LS and hopefully you wont have to sell it anytime soon. :Beer

Agreed. This is why I bought an SHO years ago too. Take advantage of the depreciation.

This employee pricing is temporary, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Slightly OT question, but for those of you who have used car dealer connections, what are the wholesale (auction) prices for 2002 30K mileage cars currently?

V8 LS?? Going for around 16500-17000 at auction.

Really? I find it surprising that some dealers are selling them for about $16800, pretty loaded. Does that mean they're not looking to generate much profit?

If the new ones are cheap the the used ones should be cheaper.

well I think I have decided to drive the 00 for a little longer. I can't push myself to ditch this one yet. still feels like it is in its prime and I want to take some time to consider all my options.

One thing is certain; I am going to retain this car when I do buy my next one. I still want to try to tune this car and I am hopeful that more perf mods such as the SC will be on the market soon.

I am convinced that this car will turn out to be a nice sleeper.

Me too. I might be keeping the Mustang also, as I haven't had any offers on it. We'll see what happens next time I get the fever though. :)

My father in-law works for Ford so I get the employee price all the time. I bought mine last month the V8 sport with almost every option(no wood wheele, navigation system, chrome wheels) and I think the employee price was $34K or $36K. It had a sticker price of $45K
