Granted I could of done better with my photoshop, but thats not the point, seems like Lincoln is on the way out... The LS was a great car, just dropped too soon by way of coorporate decision, would love to have seen where they could have gone. On the same note I'm a huge fan of FPV so why not FORD... Hook Lincoln up with some Supercharged 5.0L 460+HP RWD Manual Trans Sedan Love...

sigh... yeah why won't we compete with Cadillac's performance division?

Caddy owns domestic performance luxury now.

Such a shame too, Those CTS-V's are on fire right now.... and no one thought there was a market for high-end American luxury performance cars... cant comepete with the big boys if you dont have an all star line up. Now dont get me wrong I like the MKS but thats far from performance oriented... even if they are flashing around the 350HP Flag... smh

Yeah, but I've never liked Cadillacs. Either they look too big, too boxy or just funky body lines. I think Lincoln could fill the gap in domestic performance luxury and offer something closer to BMW/Audi/Lexus. I don't need 500 hp bulky car. Heck 350-450 that handles nice and looks clean would do it....especially if it felt quick.

Is this a fact? I believe it.

I have my mind set on a CTS-V sedan for my next vehicle at the moment. I was able to look inside at the interior of a CTS a few weeks ago and just fell in love.

My LS will never be forgotten tho. Would definately own one again, when I can say "i'll add it to my collection."

Agreed! I just left a Caddi Dealer ( Now I work for SONY) their interiors are gorgeous, just not for me. I have always been a Ford/Lincoln kinda guy, either way CTS-V's are very respected considering it's a caddi. No doubt in my mind you will be grinning for a long time

actually i dunno. but what else is there? domestic wise, no one else builds performance luxury.

Ford isn't fielding anything with Lincoln. the ecoboost models have some punch, but FWD based AWD is not a drivers car.

Chrysler/Dodge? nope... the 300 looks kinda cool, but isn't performance.

GM has Cadillac building cool stuff. the CTS-V is a powerhouse, and looks great doing it.

I don't disagree with anything said so far. I just think the title should be forget the mks/mkz not forget the mkc... Sure we all wish they'd get back to building a rwd v8, which btw is still talked about as a possibility for 2016/2017 model years.

But this mkc concept revealed today is not a sedan and is not meant to be a performance or flagship vehicle. And I actually love it. In the scheme of things it is just a really well done escape, but they did extra well this time at making it look like a completely different vehicle.

With this being a small SUV the front end that looked like a whale on the mkz, now with it being a bit taller to get the height of an SUV I feel it does not look as baleen and looks good. The side shape looks like a smaller Audi q7, I see hints of a RR evoque/ Lexus rx from the rear. From the front reminds me some of the mb glk and somewhat a Saab 9-4x.

Anyway not saying this car will completely revive lincoln, but it will do well against the other cars in this segment.

Also we should be seeing an all new mkx sometime this year as a new 2014 model and we should see a concept of what the 2015 navigator will look like by the end of this year.

one last thing, is that photoshopped car above made from a G8 or a TL? or both or neither.? :)

Yeah I think they did a REALLY good job with the MKC. I meant to show you guys awhile back but I forgot. I work at a printing company and we have been printing MKC stuff for awhile now. First time I saw the pictures rolling off the printer all I saw was MKC and couldn't see the car yet. I just sat there and waited for the car to come out hoping it was a sports sedan of some sort lol. I just totally forgot to post that stuff. Though in retrospect that might have gone down poorly for my company lol. And my job...

The car I photoshoped is a 2012 FPV (Ford Performance Vehicles) Falcon GT- RSPEC, RWD 455HP Supercharged 5.0L V-8 6-speed manual transmission available in Australia... If I remember correctly FPV is different from Ford but their still one in the same so that car above could easily be brought over.

I agree with the MKC so far, it is a beautiful SUV but their so many short comings with Lincoln right now, smh. I would have release an SUV based on the Explorer already, definitely rwd v8 sedan by now, the Navigator would have been completely done 3 years ago.... I just wonder sometimes, what the hell are they thinking???

Car posted in OP is fugly, IMO. Almost screams cheap rice. Bodylines remind me of previous gen Fusion, no projectors, etc. I'd rather drive what the competition has to offer than a Falcon.

I agree that lincoln the last 5-6 years has been pretty awful, basically changing the front and end of the car, but leaving pretty much else (including the side profile) the same. Starting with the MKZ, they have at least tried to differentiate it from it's Ford cousin. The MKC is the first Lincoln completely developed by the new Lincoln Team headed by Wolff, and I think they have a winner. The compact SUV market is dominating the entire industry, so it was imperative that this was the next Lincoln car released. A RWD sports car, while many journalists and online fans lust, are not good sellers.

Basically, Lincoln (Ford) had two options. 1st is the one they are on, revamp their volume seller vehicles to not look like redressed Fords and actually add some interesting Lincoln only features. After that they can make a halo car. 2nd is to put billions into a halo car, sucking money away from other projects (including Ford) and hope and pray that this one car brings in enough people that would want to buy the other crappy Lincoln's in production. Because in reality, not too many people end up buying the the luxury sports car, they will get something a little more practical.

There have been rumors that there has been talks of a RWD coupe based of the new Mustang chasis, but that probably won't be until 2016 if the rumors are true.

I was under the impression that the '13 mkz was the new lincoln teams first completely new design from the ground up.

From what I heard, Max Wolff came in towards the end of the development of the new MKZ. He made some changes, especially to the front end. The MKC is truely the first ground up design led by Max.

With that said, the new grill on the Lincoln MKZ & MKC are really growing on me. They are much more refined, flow good with the headlights and vertical lines, and don't look like whale.

The Caddy CTS/CTSV is even smaller inside than the LS is. We looked at a CTS before the LS, and while it was a nice driving car and had a nice bit of power, but it was just way too small inside.

I noticed...I can't confirm smaller but it did feel smaller.... Sure looks smaller.

Speaking of GM, my original intentions was to put a large down payment on a bbrand new Regal GS... the only 2 to show up at the dealer were automatics but fun cars none the less, anyways I spotted my white pearl LSV8 on the lot and fell in love, for having less power than the GS it sure felt lively and oddly faster??? Go figure, handled better too guess thats a RWD thing.... anyways paid cash no regrets since. Unfortunately nothing at Lincoln excites me anymore, might go German next S4 possibly, but I wont be letting the LS go for quite a while. I didnt think I would want to keep this one as much as I do.

What's the specs on your LS? Year miles?

1st Gen 2000 V8 bought it with 77k fresh trade as emberassing as it might sound an old couple traded it in on a 2012 Lucerne, still smells like old people lol, I'm just over 107k now with it ( I work for SONY so I travel quite a bit), just had the windows tinted and keeping up with the maintenance.... not a believer in modding the daily driver but I do have my eye on lowering springs and 19" for the summer...

I was just kind of surprised to hear you were planning on buying a new regal GS, but then decided to buy a 12 year old car... Glad you became a fan I was just surprised that if you had the money for a new regal, would have thought maybe you would look for a newer LS with lower mileage. Especially if its a daily driver. But glad your enjoying your ride.

What Ford should do is take the Mustang 5.0 chassis + drivetrain and let Lincoln can design a body for it. Call it whatever you want (LS, MKwhateverlettertheyhaventusedyet, Mark X, etc). In reality, the MKS has power (355 HP), but has no RWD option. If you made RWD and option and combine it with the paddle shifters, you'd have not only a direct competitor to any lux-sport that Caddy produces, but also something that can compete with the Euros. Their only other option would be the 5.0.

No thank you. No Lincoln car since the LS has looked good. Almost all of the vehicles Ford makes look better then the current Lincolns. I'd love to see another Lincoln luxury sport vehicle but they need a new design team first.

I was working for the Cadillac/ Buick/ GMC dealer... separate locations, they had a Ford dealer 2 hours away otherwise I would of been there... Had been a good year and I had some money saved up but one you start talking depreciation and value for dollar it only made sense, the under carriage was clean, no rust, garage kept, no leaks, everything functioned like new... very well taken care of, besides I snatched her up super cheap she was 11 when I bought the LS but yeah I was shocked to bring the LS home... so was my wife, but it paid off in the end. I left the dealership to spend more time with my family and honestly commission sales is amazing sometimes but now that I'm not in commission sales I see the money difference, worked out though, still have some money set aside for just incase.

Oh, it's smaller, you can believe me on that. I'm 6 foot 4, 240lbs, and while I'm carrying more fat than I should I am not a fat man. I was almost touching both the door and the center console with my hips at the same time, and when the seat was where I'd need it to drive nobody could sit behind me. In the LS I have some side to side room, and my daughter can ride behind me and she's about 5 ft 10.

Unfortunately nothing at Lincoln excites me anymore, might go German next S4 possibly, but I wont be letting the LS go for quite a while. I didnt think I would want to keep this one as much as I do.

I feel the same way about Lincoln. It's all FWD garbage and the grills remind me of whales, although the car in the first post of this thread in a RWD configuration would be pretty nice. I don't know about going with an S4 though, the Audi 4s are also tiny cars. I bought my 2003 LS from the local Audi dealer, and when they were doing some warranty work to it they let me have a new supercharged A6 (might have been an S6, don't remember as I only had it for 3 hours) for a loaner. It was a nice, fast, well handling car but even it was a bit on the small side, slightly smaller than the LS. I was thinking that if I were to go Audi it would have to be an 8 for me to be comfortable. An R8 would be nice, but even it's too small inside. They had one on the showroom floor and I felt cramped in it.

exactly... the new lincolns are getting better IMO, but they still aren't really good looking cars...

Lincoln producing a rear wheel drive of any sort to compete with the germans will only result in a price tag of $50,000-$60,000. At the point, nobody is going to pay that money for a Lincoln.

They just released another commercial for the MKZ, seems like they are really trying. First time i see so many Lincoln car commercials.
