whats going on guys? the other day i decided to be like that guy with the purple mark on youtube and it made me realize this car was only meant to go in a straight line. i ended up losing control and ran over a small curb. my steering wheel was all messed up, it was probably around 10 o'clock and my car pulled very hard to the right. i took it to get the alignment done and they told me that nothing was bent or anything but " it had give and was worn out and needed to be replaced".
now what makes me wonder about all this is 1) this alignment was free because i had brought the car back within 6 months of the alignment i paid for and 2) its NTB, i dont know how trust worthy these guys are. you guys have any input?

Did they align the car?
If they did does it go straight?

You could have just knocked it out of alignment, if the car has miles on it I am sure the front needs to be gone thru.

And stop watching Geno on youtube.

YouTube - More sideways Lincoln Mark VIII action.

Uhm.. it's GENO.

and.."there can only be one".

Geno needs to put some "dont try this in STL kids" screens on his video's

*LMAO*

they did the alignment but the car still pulls a little to the right, not too bad though. it was really just a stupid thing for me to do, im lucky i didnt do some real damage. i forgot to mention that it was the tire rod and control that had give to it in the original post.

are these legit parts? also if i plan on redoing the stock bags with an aftermarket setup, am i wasting my time and money buying stock stuff?

Go to Eddie for your air ride needs.
click click
Do not buy e bay crap to put in your car.
Use t-bird stuff to avoid the Lincoln tax.
Except the uppers you will have to buy Lincoln Mark VIII stuff if you are keeping your air ride.
For LCA bushing I would go with stock.
The rest I bought from rock auto...buy the Moog stuff don't cheap out when it comes to rebuilding the front end.

yeah i figured that ebay set was too good to be true. now what i dont understand is the guys at NTB told me the tire rod and control arm had give but was not bent. is that possible? im just not very suspension savvy i guess.

I just have a quick suspension question for you guys. Will a T-Bird outer tie rod end fit on a Mark VIII? Just wondering because the T-Bird part is about 10 bux cheaper than the Lincoln part. And I need a passenger side outer for my '96 GEN1. And since they are both on the MN12/FN10 platform, shouldn't they interchange? Thanks.

So while we have this topic up...

I'm having a similar suspension issue. A clunk on the front left along with a pull to the right under braking. So far I have replaced a bent inner tie rod on the passenger side, a drivers side outer tie rod bushing, and both calipers. Could this clunk and pull be caused by a beat up outer tie rod? What should I look into replacing to fix this issue?

a drivers side outer tie rod bushing

a WHAT?

there is no such thing in the mark 8 suspension.

you must be referring to the "strut rod bushing" which controls the fore and aft movement of the Lower control arm.

There are no tie rod bushings

does anyone know if i plan on doing an aftermarket bag system if im waisting my time replacing the control arms and tie rods? or is that stuff that can stay with an aftermarket setup?
