How do I lube the front wheel bearings.Do I need to unbolt the bottom of the front shock, and do I also need to have the front end alligned afterwards. Any special tools?
This is for my 1990 Mk Vll LSC

to check if ur wheel bearings need adjustment jack up the car and put on jackstands grab wheel and take note of the play if only slight just adjust the torque on bearings if u really want to take it apart and regrease these are the basics first take off the wheel, then brake caplier and remove the dust cap cotter pin and remove the castle nut pull rotor off cleanest way to repack the bearings is to use grease gun,and a bearing repacking tool sold at auto parts fairly cheap store but u can repack them by hand u put a dallop of grease in a clean hand not dirty and take bearing and push outer part of the race into the grease in ur hand do this all the way around until u have forced out the old grease reinstall is reverse of removal i think the torque on the castle nut is about 15-17lbs while spinning the wheel back off 1/4 turn then while spinning retorque to 15-17lbs

Does'nt the strut have to be removed also? It seems to be bolted up to something right behind the caliper
