Hey I just have a few questions. If any one can help out thanks, I just got My 01 LS V8 from my mom two months ago but she has only owned it since last august. She has gotten oil changes every three months and has gotten new tires but that is all but we don't know about any maintenance that has other wise been done by previous owners. So I just wanted to know what all do I need to do as far as fluids and or flushing and anything else? Neither one of us knows anything more than a regular oil change as far as maintenance.

It would be a good ideal to have your power steering fluid, coolant and brake fluid checked or replaced if you don't know when the last time it was done.

how many miles that will dictate more of what would probably need done.

but check the spark plugs, brake pads, air filter, fuel filter,

If you have high millage I would recommend lifting it up if you have such ability and checking the front suspension for any play ( ball joints)

If you run across any failing parts this thread will be quite useful for you and safe time searching and waiting for responses

If you go to a Ford or Lincoln Dealer they can run an OASIS report in the service department which should show all work performed on the car by a Ford /Linc dealer. Unfortunately, if most the work was done by the owner, or at independent shops, you will be starting from scratch. If so a good place to start would be your owners manual recommendations based on mileage.

thank yall so much, it has 141000 on it and I used to have the owners manual untill three weeks ago someone broke in and stole it and my radio =( but I was more kind of hoping i can do most of the stuff my self, I know i can replace the spark plugs my self and the oil so I'll go on and read those threads thank you for the link =).

A) who steals a user manual...

B) it can mostly all be done your self with a good set of tools and a little know how. If you do not have the tools or are mechanically inclined, I would take it to shop, it's way to easy to mess something up.

Haha I thought the same thing, I was like why that? But I guess this thief doesn't half a$$ anything. Or thought it was a wallet cause they got me at night on my dark street. At the same time they stole my moms purse out of her car right next to mine.
But thank you, today I went to Oreilly's to price out everything Ill need. If any questions come up Ill be sure to put that search function to use.

Too bad about the theft, you can always down load your model year Owners Manual from the TECH ARTICLES at the top of the page.
