it sux for us to see a rich kid like todd to get anything they want like a brand new LS or a range. Me personally, yes my mom did pay for the car but no i just didint take it as a gift im paying my mom back every cent and working 2 jobs + school to do it. So if you wanna flash your wealth plz do it some where else. Oh yea thx for the info about the 745's being stopped but you know what if i want a 745 im getting a 745 new or pre-owned. So, im sorry you could have the pleasure of bursting my bubble.

It's beyond my comprehension why any parent would buy their 17 year old kid a brand new $40K Lincoln. I sure wouldn't. Any other parents out there disagree?

It's all relative Todd. If you have a 7 figure income, 40K for a car for your kid is nothing. In this case, they are buying their son a sensible car. You would be amazed at how many parents buy their kids new Cobras...'Vettes, etc. Now THAT is just plain stupid and I wonder if they didn't take out huge life insurance policies on the kids or something because you're sticking a loaded gun in their hands when you do that.

My sons are 30 and 28...and every parent's dream. They are and have been two of the finest kids...and now young men...you would ever want to meet. Very responsible and hard working...and the oldest did two tours in the Persian Gulf and used the GI Bill for school when he got out. But when they were in high school, they needed help with a car. I got them an Escort and a 4 cyl Mustang with an automatic trans! Both were just tickled to death to have anything at all. I paid for the cars and the insurance...but if their grades fell below 3.0, they had to pay for the insurance or park it. That happened just once...and never again. Damn good kids.
